QUOTE(benny888 @ Jun 1 2011, 11:13 AM) Please DO IT. Will be most interested to know. Thinking similar lines as you but not willing to spend on new phone - maybe AP/or used set to do such comparisons with the SGS II actually i have decided to buy a tablet.. eee pad transformers to be specific.. but i think i'll just use the money on sensation first and will sell one of the phone once the transformers is available in market.. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 3 2011, 09:14 AM) hmmm... can see backside leh... my sgs2 is using matte sp.. which reduce it's color a lot.. later i'll post the pic of the back k!but seriously, it would seem sensation looks better from the photo above, in terms of display quality. i kinda like what is on the display at the htc phone. the colour looks nicer. isit coz sgs2 got matte SP? |

looks like i have to sell one of this faster due to my transformers coming tmrw!
ermm it's unfair to rate sensation lowly coz i havent really play with it today.. although my 1st impression is, SGS2 is better.. so i might sacrifice my beloved sgs2 for this sensation (duhh |

QUOTE(KiToRo @ Jun 3 2011, 04:47 PM) ahha sure..i just do quick survey among my officemates (smartphone users).. and the votes are currently equal 3-3.. so far my quick personal non technical opinion: sensation + the curving display makes the phone looks good. + video playback looks clear n good + htc sense is absolutely second to none! + text is super sharp + the lockscreen is cool and convenient to use - somehow the sensation fails to detect my wifi - gallery takes longer time to load than sgs2 - heavier than sgs2 sgs2 + i like the slim design of sgs2 + color on sgs2 is way nicer + feels smoother (from touchwiz navigation, and also in overall) + i like the home button! + sad to say, but tbh i like the fact that it does has some iphone's features - touchwiz homescreen doesnt really offers anything good - a bit too wide, but still acceptable |

i just ran few tests of web browsing and sensation loads faster than sgs2..
the good thing is, sensation by default open all website in their desktop mode, while sgs2 opens in mobile mode.. |

selling sensation because of concern about the battery life?
then what phone u going to get? Atrix? sgs2 battery life is awesome, but i've no doubt my 1 day old sensation can match the sgs2 battery life.. it's a problem with android battery management.. not phone.. |

QUOTE(dead_psycho @ Jun 4 2011, 04:11 PM) any idea if htc sensation has the capability to play mkv, h264 video files with embedded subtitles? planning to watch hd movies/anime while on the go >.< luckily u asked about the video files with embedded subtitle.. will try it tmrw..i know sgs2's player can do so, but not sure about sensation... please enlighten me..thx QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Jun 4 2011, 05:36 PM) Can anyone try playing 1080p in the following formats: .avi, .mkv, .mp4 (or it's variant)? Previous generations can only go up to 720p. Curious of the capability to resize to qHD. i've tested 1080p .mkv and .mp4, stock video player can play it smoothly. |

QUOTE(LCKS @ Jun 5 2011, 06:30 PM) QUOTE(nicregi @ Jun 5 2011, 07:32 PM) Irenic...mind to explain a little bit more why you planning to sell your SG 2? I mean, is Sensation that better than SG2? well the reason i choose Sensation is because i feel sensation serves me better as a phone. sgs2 is better than sensation in terms of speed, design, on paper specification but sensation is better when it comes to the most important elements i need from a phone: call quality and signal. tested on DiGi sim card, Sensation has better signal / coverage thus offers me better 3g coverage, faster data speed, better call quality and less chance for call drops. speed on Sensation is not slower than other dual core phones i've tried, and faster than the fastest single core phone (nexus S) out there, so i dont see as a lost for me to choose Sensation over SGS2. as I just bought the transformers eee pad, which to connect to internet i need to use my phone as wifi hotspot, the sensation successfully delivered me constant and fast data network yesterday all the way from cyberjaya to melaka. even at place like pedas/linggi where my SGS2 didn't even has Edge! as much as I like sgs2, which still considers the best android phone i ever have, Sensation is the one i'll keep as it suits my usage better. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jun 6 2011, 10:00 AM) Another SGS II and Sensation user has posted a complete different opinion from irenic. He sold off his sensation after only 1 day as he found it to be a poorer phone on phone features. This user is also a gadget enthusiast, using many types of smartphones +1 So goes to show different people has different needs/perception. Both HTCS and SGS II has its own pros and cons. QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 6 2011, 10:03 AM) sorry, kinda new to all these hotspot thingy. nope.. my transformers is at stock android 3.1.. actually i just created a wifi network using sensation's wifi hotspot features and the transformers just connect to the network using wifi.. does the transformer need to be rooted to connect this way? i tot someone replied in the TF thread that stock OS won't allow TF to connect ad-hoc (or to a mobile hotspot)? QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 6 2011, 10:08 AM) agreed. and you guys give me headache as well... lol. now dunno what to get... hahaha... i'll probably spend 1 day to check both units when sgs2 is officially available. #1 - sgs2i need my phone to be able to: * 3G video calls (not using apps but normal voice call kinda thingy) * take photos fast -- especially taking kids -- they run fast and current phone not fast enuff for them * loud speakers * ideally can watch 1080p movies smoothly * play games! #2 - sensation #3 - do u mean loud speakers during phone call? - (sensation and sgs2 are equal) or for music or movie playback? - (sgs2 better) #4 - sgs2 / sensation #5 - tegra games? Atrix / optimus2x! QUOTE(yehlai @ Jun 6 2011, 10:15 AM) Thanks Irenic, good metaphor! My sgs2 is running Hsdpa and 3g all the time with Digi line. Only test it klang valley to cybetjaya so far. Both is fantastic phone, I can easily live with either of it. SGS2 is Civic typeR.. its fast, you can Mod it crazily. Don't have luxury look, light weight, full of potential. Its raw grunt power. Sensation is Caldina.. definitely not slow, build for all rounder, luxury fell and comfortable. More users friendly, thanks to its Sense 3.0 |
