honestly i havent test yet, but i believe that.. YOU ARE RIGHT! htc never impress me in audio section

Different ppl got diff view and preferences so nothing much to compare .... Sense 3.0 is smoother than older version yet it reminds me of of SPB Shell 3D

A simple statement , i am willing to trade the sensation for a sgs2 but not a sgs2 for a sensation .... However , cant complain much for both as both got its pro and cons

looks like i have to sell one of this faster due to my transformers coming tmrw!

ermm it's unfair to rate sensation lowly coz i havent really play with it today.. although my 1st impression is, SGS2 is better..

so i might sacrifice my beloved sgs2 for this sensation (duhh ) !

i just do quick survey among my officemates (smartphone users).. and the votes are currently equal 3-3..

so far my quick personal non technical opinion:

sensation

+ the curving display makes the phone looks good.
+ video playback looks clear n good
+ htc sense is absolutely second to none!
+ text is super sharp
+ the lockscreen is cool and convenient to use

- somehow the sensation fails to detect my wifi
- gallery takes longer time to load than sgs2
- heavier than sgs2

sgs2

+ i like the slim design of sgs2
+ color on sgs2 is way nicer
+ feels smoother (from touchwiz navigation, and also in overall)
+ i like the home button!
+ sad to say, but tbh i like the fact that it does has some iphone's features

- touchwiz homescreen doesnt really offers anything good
- a bit too wide, but still acceptable

i just ran few tests of web browsing and sensation loads faster than sgs2..

the good thing is, sensation by default open all website in their desktop mode, while sgs2 opens in mobile mode..

What is the battery calibration app? Can some tell me the name?

Added on June 3, 2011, 10:09 pmTo me, i fully charged it last night and removed it at 9am. Since then, i have called for at least 30mins..  sms countless, whatsapp like 150 msgs.. and downloaded around 500+mb of crap.. using wifi btw, only turn on my mobile network for 15 mins and within that time watchdog reported around 1.5mb only.. and it lasted till 6pm with 8% battery left..

For me, i think this is acceptable.. cause on normal use.. i just want the phone to last 1 day and charge at night.. so after the novelty wears out, i wont be downloading a shit load of apps..

Oh yah, and another 200mb of apps transfered from my laptop to my sensation via bluetooth.. also connected my sensation to my car radio and spoke on the phone for 20 mins using car radio connected via bluetooth.,..

Use a high powered Android smartphone, learn how to manage your battery life. Sorry, there is no one quick solution yet. Battery technology has yet to keep up with the growing power of the chips.
If you are the " lazy" type like me and do not not wish to tinker much with the various settings/apps etc , get a spare battery ( I always have two ). And when I travel , I always have another portable battery pack/charger ( 4800mAH) in my bag  with me

any idea if htc sensation has the capability to play mkv, h264 video files with embedded subtitles? planning to watch hd movies/anime while on the go >.<

i know sgs2's player can do so, but not sure about sensation...

The gorilla glass will not be scratch with normal friction with keys, coins commonly found in pockets
UNless you force scratch it by dragging a knife deeply across it. Using even a ballpen and drag it across will not scratch it. Using a diamond will cut it and some had reported fine sands drag across will.
So decide on sp usage based on your own scenario
I do not use sp for more than a year already as my phones/tablets are always kept in closed cases

i dun think this is software issue. more to hardware.. u flat the phone and wifi signals drop to near zero and when u cusp ur palm, the phone regains signal. obviously your palm is blocking the radio when u flat it out.. so it's most probably hardware..

When ever i cover my whole palm at the back of the phone, yes. But i normally use my phone in a 'normal' way with only 3 fingers at the back and those fingers are not held close to each other. U can try holding the sensation in a normal to seeif it fits u well.. if u use ur phone with whole palm at the back, i guess its awkward, get a tablet instead T_T

Anyone know if Sensation can do standard 3g video call. If not, any workaround available to get it working. It's deal breaker for me to get the Sensation. Main reason I'm still tossing between Sensation and SGS2.
