Irenic...mind to explain a little bit more why you planning to sell your SG 2? I mean, is Sensation that better than SG2?
*
well the reason i choose Sensation is because i feel sensation serves me better as a phone.

sgs2 is better than sensation in terms of speed, design, on paper specification but sensation is better when it comes to the most important elements i need from a phone: call quality and signal.

tested on DiGi sim card, Sensation has better signal / coverage thus offers me better 3g coverage, faster data speed, better call quality and less chance for call drops.

speed on Sensation is not slower than other dual core phones i've tried, and faster than the fastest single core phone (nexus S) out there, so i dont see as a lost for me to choose Sensation over SGS2.

as I just bought the transformers eee pad, which to connect to internet i need to use my phone as wifi hotspot, the sensation successfully delivered me constant and fast data network yesterday all the way from cyberjaya to melaka. even at place like pedas/linggi where my SGS2 didn't even has Edge!

as much as I like sgs2, which still considers the best android phone i ever have, Sensation is the one i'll keep as it suits my usage better.

Another SGS II and Sensation user has posted a complete different opinion from irenic. He sold off his sensation after only 1 day as he found it to be a poorer phone on phone features. This user is also a gadget enthusiast, using many types of smartphones
So goes to show different people has different needs/perception. Both HTCS and SGS II has its own pros and cons.

does the transformer need to be rooted to connect this way? i tot someone replied in the TF thread that stock OS won't allow TF to connect ad-hoc (or to a mobile hotspot)?

agreed. and you guys give me headache as well... lol. now dunno what to get... hahaha... i'll probably spend 1 day to check both units when sgs2 is officially available.

i need my phone to be able to:
* 3G video calls (not using apps but normal voice call kinda thingy)
* take photos fast -- especially taking kids -- they run fast and current phone not fast enuff for them
* loud speakers
* ideally can watch 1080p movies smoothly
* play games! smile.gif

Only the SGS II can allow you to do video calls without any apps. SGS II will meet all your other requirements. So you have only one choice SGS II unless video calls is not so important

All Android Honeycomb tablets ( even XOOM ) cannot allow adhoc wifi - but this can easily overcome just be applying a patch to wpa supplicant file to hacve it adhoc enabled - google for solution at XDA

Thanks Irenic,
My sgs2 is running Hsdpa and 3g all the time with Digi line. Only test it klang valley to cybetjaya so far.

Both is fantastic phone, I can easily live with either of it.

SGS2 is Civic typeR.. its fast, you can Mod it crazily. Don't have luxury look, light weight, full of potential. Its raw grunt power.

Sensation is Caldina.. definitely not slow, build for all rounder, luxury fell and comfortable. More users friendly, thanks to its Sense 3.0

video call ranks highly. if anything, it is a must have requirement.

hmmm... can i assume that your reply implies out of the box, sensation can't do 3g video calls as well? i m kinda surprised.

#1 - sgs2
#2 - sensation
#3 - do u mean loud speakers during phone call? - (sensation and sgs2 are equal) or for music or movie playback? - (sgs2 better)
#4 - sgs2 / sensation
#5 - tegra games? Atrix / optimus2x! tongue.gif

#1 and #2 very suay for me -- both end up different phone as the answer. both are needed for the same purpose -- get in touch with my close ones and capture the moments. i gues it would be sgs2 for me since photos should still be ok (just not as good as sensation). will probably test them out later on just to be sure.

thanks for the feedback.

i can say in terms of quality, both are good. as i said before, sgs2 - cleaner picture but with less details while sensation - more details with slightly more noise..

but sensation snaps pic really fast.. almost instantly..

from what i understand, this function is not made available by HTC -- for whatever reasons, i dunno. even incredible s dun have this.

but i leave it to the seasoned and expert sifu to explain why and if htc has any plans to enable/ support this.

So far I know, only Galaxy S and Galaxy S II supports 3G video calls by default out of the box

Most other and HTC do not. You need 3rd party apps eg tango, Fring

the best answer is to hv hands on the device.. on paper specs is not the best way to decide which one is a better phone..
