QUOTE(TheArgumentMan @ Feb 11 2011, 01:55 PM)

Ruthless? If he was ruthless, Woy would have been gone much earlier. Spent peanuts? You mean 300 million is only peanuts? Liverpool is not even worth half of Manchester United why would you think he actually spent peanuts.  You are talking about the transfer market I guess. Losing your tailsman for sureez who is considered a good player and Roy Caroll who is currently an unknown is good business. Seriously, even darren bent is worth much more then Roy Caroll as he is proven and has premier league experience and yet people are laughing that he actually gone to Aston Villa for 24 million. For someone who has only been on the big stage for 6 months you actually spent 35 million and you still think it is not a big mistake. Well goes to show how financial savvy you really are

To me, I would like to take the positive to the game like;

1. Overall jaded but still we kept the game in tempo (not as fast as everyone wants it but at least we don't sit back.. hey its Anfield after all)

2. Back 4 seems lively and getting used to playing with one another. Agger is indeed more reliable than Skrtel but hopefully the Carra and Agger influence will get him back on his defensive best

3. Meireles is a friggin give from out of nowhere (Woy was right about this one)

4. Suarez is showing the kind of 22.8 mil quality we paid for him. He is going to be our new goal contributor very soon.

5. And still I am in Awed of King Kenny, the way our players play "pass and move" and the morale is astounding.

Yes it is a draw and yes we dropped 2 points but we are in a transition, as long as the goal is still there, playing like the LFC of old and with a touch of flair here and there, I am more than a happy fan smile.gif

Still a joy to behold after months of disappointments it's putting the smile.gif back on my face. YNWA!!!

Thanks for that. Been reading lots of the stuff off the pitch done by LFC club, it's managers, owners, players.

Nowadays I don't even need long discussions to questions as to why I support the club for 3/4 of my life, I just smile and say "it's mainly spiritual and you don't need to understand that" blush.gif

Wow, when I logged in, I thought I came into an MU thread.

Seriously, both sides can come out defending or accusing or fact finding over the events over the past 2 weeks, so basically can we just STFU already?

The next few games over the few months is what you all should be focusing on and if LFC members don't go in and stomp on your thread when you write comments about LFC or their players then respect another's thread when some members here do the same.

So that being said, you guys can either grow up and take a step back "OR" continue to biatch even further like a bunch of desperate housewives needing the attention of a stud.

Anyway, who is excited about the transfer market rumors of late, OMFG we are link to so many players and a tranfer kitty of 50 mil... tongue.gif
(^ see wasn't that easy?)

(and yes if you all (on both sides of the fence) can say your proper farewells to each other and not bother with answering back with wise ass answers, much will be appreciated)

And again,

Lets focus on what we are looking for this summer.. I heard one in the pocket and 2 more in the making, the 24 year old French dude looks a good acquisition i think flex.gif

Wow! So much bashing in so little time?

Seriously, no offence to any intellectuals here but was the Europa League any guarantee at all at the start of the season when Old Roy was around?
Was it really unexpected that we would kinda crash out some time or another?

If you wanna say I have little faith then it's entirely up to you. In realistic manner, the signs were there for over the past few europa matches we had.
We were lucky to have gotten pass the last round and as much as Kenny has done since he's arrival, what he did so far was for the better... for the BPL.

There were some articles I read that it was actually better to have not made it in Europa. I thought WTF are they talking about and then I realised heY! there may be some solid truth in them. Go find them and read them cause I'm a tad bit lazy to spoon feed at the moment. blush.gif

Anyway, looking at our BPL record over the past few months, we have improved. I shudder to think what would have become of us if a less honest, less critical and less symbolic individual like Kenny came along. We were in a rut and I don't think anyone here needs reminding.

Get it out of your system, trophy or not, we have been there with lots, with have been barren but Liverpool will still be Liverpool. We won't fade out because we are not in Europe next year. Maybe it's true that we won't attract as many "BIG" names as when we were playing in Europe. But in all seriousness, do we want mercenaries or do we want a squad we can rely on? We will have activities in the transfer market that is without a doubt but even if we don't sign BIG names, would you think we will be fading further that what we had earlier this season?

Suarez and Carroll has shown what they are made of and technically if both bond as we hope, I can only shiver with delight at the possibilities. Mireiles is growing and Kuyt (curses! he's not creative!!!) ever reliable and Kelly being up and coming, we have more than just paltry hope next season.

I am not asking for blind faith, you guys can all question and play your fantasy football all you want but it's shown that even a club full of Big signings come crashing back down to reality as we have seen countless of times.

We have a manager in Kenny we can trust, we have new exciting 2 new forwards, we have people under Old Roy's regime that are coming good and hell, you guys were bashing on Lucas but now he is more or less getting to be a Liverpool player. No, if you guys want a SUPERIOR flex.gif already champion winning team and not have the time for a belief that we can become great again, the rival clubs buttons are just 2 mouse clicks away.

I am sorry if I have offended anyone's sensibilities over this long arse post but being a fan for more than 26 years whats another 2-3 more when I know Kenny will come good with his promise blush.gif

so to all my fellow Liverpool fans. Chin up! Hang tight! It'll be a great ride, come good, come bad

we cannot deny that younger generation like something instant...but with unrealistic vision, they look bad. To become a champion material, we cannot be in one season. Somemore KD take charge in the middle of the season. This is the things we should consider. How lucky old farts that can feel the golden era of Liverpool, still like the same old farts eventhough Liverpool almost going into 2nd division early season.

To be fair, I have nothing but respect for the younger fans that are coming to appreciate LFC as a football club but what I lack is the patience for their immediate need for instant gratification for cups and trophies. Hunger and ambition must be served with realism and if not, rewards must be tampered with some hardships only then it's sweet.

This is from a doctor friend I know, he said "painkillers are quick acting, relieving, good for the moment but long term effects are hidden. You never know when you keep having it and the joy of being painless comes back to haunt you later." Like football, quick fixes are a disease, it becomes something to rely on too easily. Winning is always better than losing but it only builds an illusion of being stronger without actually making you strong. Bouncing back from defeats is what makes you stronger.

I don't wanna sound like an old cock telling the young but it's really as simple as we see it. It's football. Watching your team win or lose is part and parcel of being a fan, if we find it too hard to swallow, just turn off yourselves and have a break.

As always, what I want to see is our beloved club play great exciting football and when I watch Suarez play, you cannot imagine how long it has been to see someone making me this excited watching a football game in a very long time since Torres started his season with us. It wasn't the goal scoring that made me enjoy watching a player but the way they create the goal! and that man Suarez, he's gonna go a long way.

damn i am so excited this Sunday.

Sunderland is not an easy team at home. It'll be nice to see if Suarez is really a nutcracker. and I really hope Carroll will start alongside him.

It'll be a test, results or not, it will still be exciting to watch.

Away to Sunderland always going to be tough. Even Arsenal failed to break them down. hopefully Liverpool will manage to get a win. a perfect tim for the players to pick themselves up after the europa league exit.

I'm actually wondering if Kenny would start Andy for this or would he stick with Kuyt and Suarez upfront. Without Stevie G, I am thinking Kuyt will now play right with Andy upfront and Suarez just behind him.

I wonder who would make the bombing runs from the left. Well I guess I'll just have to see it tonight to enjoy it.

Damn I am still so excited about the match. Always loved the way Sunderland defends. Break them down and you have a chance to break many a wall flex.gif

oh and grats on the 10man M.U. win, credit given where credit is due blush.gif
