Agreed. silly challenge by both right back. Both Carra and Rafael should have kept their head cool. both teams could have been reduced to 10mens with each team have one player injured.

I've expected Liverpool to score the moment i saw both Carrick and Scholes started crumbling under pressure from the constant pressing by Kuyt and Suarez. Suarez did brilliantly to dance in the MAn Utd box. certainly no offside there on Kuyt. he was behind Evra. The second goal was a pure stupid mistake by Nani. instead of heading out for a corner, he head the ball towards his own goal. if Liverpool can keep this up in the 2nd half, i don't see why they can't win this match. They deserve it. Meireles drifting from right into the center, Gerrard linking each area of the park, and Lucas constantly moving around to distrupt Man Utd midfielders coordination.

kamkamparadise, why didn't SAF start with Rooney and Chica, becoz I thought their linkup play looks good in recent game

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Mar 8 2011, 01:49 PM)
What I don't understand it allegations that Carra is dirty. I swear people who say this don't watch football because when I asked for example to indicate that he is dirty, there were none. I may be biased but I cannot honestly remember a time Carra seriously injured a fellow professional. He is a model player and loves football. He is passionate and hard but fair.

Carra is a good honest pro and I dare anyone to prove otherwise.
*
Yup I'm also waiting for them to prove that Carra is dirty because talk is cheap.

I would put Carra in the category of hard tackler no more no less. In the same group as Lampard, Scholes, Masch, maybe Alonso. Well I guess many players fit the group. And some manage to get a clean tackle more often than others like Masch.

People tend to believe that if the tackle resulted in bad injury than it warrants a red , when there are many factors contribute to the injury. The spot that it hits, bone, muscle etc. How fast both players coming to the tackle.

The point is you don't simply send a player off just because the other player injured badly. You look at the manner of the tackle, is it malicious, dangerous, high footed, two feet lunging tackle. Just because the other player is not injured or managed to avoid the tackle at the very last second doesn't mean the tackle does not warrant a red card. Maybe the other player reacted quick enough to avoid the tackle or maybe he just simply doesn't want to risk a bad injury so he backed off rather than letting a contact made to get a free kick. But does that make a tackle less dangerous.

A bad/dangerous tackle is a bad/dangerous tackle whether the other player injured or managed to escape the tackle. That is what we should focus on not the manner of the injury.

I wonder why they don't channel their anger and frustration to Nani for giving that assist for our 2nd goal. I mean that is just unnecessary to head the ball back to your goal when you could just head it out. When you are down 1-0 you are still in the game. But letting 2 goals in what 6 minutes, that is shooting in the foot.

So if you want to be angry, there you should be angry to Nani for making that wrong decision when you still could get back in the game. smile.gif

Is this going to be another boring European night? hopefully not. Thank god the kick off is much earlier than the UCL game

We replaced Maxi with Cole in the starting line-up, and he only started to get in the game towards the end of the 1st half. Clearly we need to spend in the summer for that position.

Poulsen needs to stop playing in slow motion.

That guy was clearly targeting Carroll's face and he didn't even got booked. Disgraceful.

Added on March 11, 2011, 3:58 amAnd it's a sin to let Cole be on the pitch while Pacheco is sitting on the bench.

Fair enough for KD to give the like of Cole, Spearing and Poulsen a chance to feature in starting eleven.

I think Spearing has done better than the other two. Even when he was pushed back to take the defensive role after Poulsen sub he did a good job. Cole also got fully 90min to prove his worth, yet he offered nothing significant. Except for the penalty claim which I think he tried too hard to ensure contact. And I don't remember him manage to put any crosses.

So for me Cole time is up. So let's see who is next in the pecking order, Pacheco maybe. I think Maxi, Pacheco, Cole/Jova should all be given equal chance on the pitch to see which one can offer more at least until we acquire a better player in the summer. Right now I only see Maxi n Cole given the chance.

I don't know why Torres keep on mentioning Liv.

If want to talk good about Chelsea, then just talk how well he feel about Chelsea, don't need to compare with Liv. As simple as that.
Whether how bad was Liv, this is history already, everyone move on and see in front, not look back anymore.

This^

Let me see, Torres criticising Liverpool dressing room not fun enough. Former Liverpool players considered Rafa too distant.

Are the media trying to divert our focus to off field issue? hmm.gif

Btw Rafa mentioned about this Jovetic guy he was trying to acquire during his time.

"We had one top-class player who was our target, Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic. As far as I was concerned, we had the money for him in our budget, but then the owners said: 'No, no, we don't have the money'. Then he scored against us in the Champions League to help knock us out!

I did not really follow Serie A, but is he any good?

SOS

Too much hoof ball. We need quality defense splitting hoof ball. Only Raul should be allowed to hoof the ball.

Cole n Maxi were allowed to be on the pitch far too long and we paid the price.
