Guys, which would yield better results?
1) PS3 connected to TV via HDMI - External speakers connected to TV via TV's Audio Out
OR
2) PS3 connected to TV via HDMI - External speakers connected to PS3 via PS3's Multi AV
Or is there no difference at all?

If you have a hdmi avr, PS3 connected to hdmi avr then to tv hdmi gives the best HT sound and can change sound to suit games, music or DVD/BD Cheers

I don't have an AVR... just basic PC speakers that uses RCA for input..haha. anyway, I tried connecting the speakers directly to the PS3 via the Multi AV port, and I seem to get better Left/Right sound seperation compared to connecting the speakers directly to the TV's Audio Out

Hi, I've an old Sony avr having the digital optical input and u can setup your PS3 using optical output thru this setup to get HT (DTS etc) sound thru your avr. I think you will not get sound thru the hdmi to the LCD TV hdmi input using this setup, cannot quit recall. Cheers

I'm pretty sure can, my Multi AV from the PS3 is connected directly to my speakers. Not even an AVR....
