activate in gsm mode.will last much longer.3g mode BLOODY fast.

nop, doesn' help. If the push email is on, no way i can make the phone last for a day.

By the way, anyone has problem with Usb OTG? Mine always says memory corrupted when i connect a thumb drive. Fat32 and NTFS has same issue. When i connect it to my computer, thumb drive is ok.

May I know how many emails are you using and what are the push frequency?

Are you on power saving mode? Any 3rd party battery optimization app that you run?

not activate power saving mode.just normal mode.15 minutes every push.quite frequent coz lowyat n facebook mail nonstop.multitask whatsapp as well.if i can notice very huge difference between 3g mode n gsm mode.very significant
*
Alright, I think I found the cause. My WLAN is continuously scanning for available network. The power saving mode for WLAN (yes, there is a separate one) was also disabled.

Need to charge my phone again now (10% battery left - 1 bar) and put it to the test again by optimizing the Wi-Fi setting.

This has been confirmed on the day Rangers got their N8. Why still bring this up? Want NTFS? Support WP7.

Just tested with a 4Gb Fat32 thumb drive and it works. So it should be something wrong with my 8Gb Kingston thumb drive (which is also unlikely because it works well in computers).

Unfortunately, mine showing "corrupted" and there is no option to format via the phone sad.gif

It's not your phone or cable problem.

I have three pieces of 2GB pen drives from Sandisk, Toshiba and the special gift from Nokia during E7 launch.

All are formatted with FAT32 and here are the result.

Toshiba and Sandisk are being detected fine and working. The special one from Nokia is not.

I double checked with my laptop and pc and confirm all 3 are in working condition but only Nokia fail the test. It come out with an error "Unsupported USB device. Disconnect device".

I forgot to mention that I not only test it with different phones (including N8) but also change cables (also from N8).

Well, weird but possible. No Kingston driver support in Symbian I guess sweat.gif

No...

Anyway, feel free to google for chipgenius and then use it to identify your pendrive VID PID and then google for info again...

not able to see any other code clearly.

By the way, I fully charged my phone at 8pm yesterday and at this point of time (7:50am), my battery is still full.

Push email ongoing; screen display at medium (middle), 2 calls (total 5 mins).

So the culprit which drains the battery is the auto wifi scanner which was turned on by default.

Glad that your problem funally solved. How can we forgot about auto wifi scanning, thats one of the biggest battery drainer in the phone. Which turning it off is one of the first thing I done when I received my N8, C7 and E6. Cardinal sin by Nokia to leave it on by default doh.gif

Anyway, how about the battery level now? We can make a guide on battery preservation based on your experience icon_idea.gif

4 bars left as at 5:20pm with continuous push email still on smile.gif

Happy with that. Hopefully it will go on until tomorrow morning.

Will also be doing a comparison with BlackBerry biggrin.gif

Added on July 20, 2011, 11:53 pmI found an interesting bug with E6 web browser.

Try scrolling using touch and while its scrolling, press the D pad to continue scrolling and it will scroll repeatly like a circle.
*
not worried about those bugs because currently using Opera Mobile. It is much smoother in terms of scrolling and overall much better to use compared to the native browser.

Yes, agree. I often miss my calls/smses/emails when the phone is in my pocket even while I am at a quiet place.

The ringtone is not very loud but quite OK. The only problem is, the speaker is placed at the back and it is totally blocked when the phone is placed into the pouch. Poor pouch design.

Now, I have another reason to be happy for choosing Nokia E6 instead of Nokia X7.

I can enjoy the discussion here because there is no photo spamming, seriously.

So annoying to see the photos loading one by one and I can't read anything until the page is fully loaded because of the 'page jumping' when each photo loads.

It also waste all my bandwidth (300mb is too little)

Thank God, the spammer choose X7 smile.gif

Yup, seem like there is update... OTA not yet out... have to use OVI Suite to update...

Better wait for OTA, cos need to download 173MB update...

Better use Nokia Software Update aka NSU... Ovi Suite so lag and slow download... NSU is flying at full speed
*
I can see the update on my phone but it still asks me to update via pc. I dont see any option to update via the phone itself.

Haiz, cannot update via ovi suite. It is either loading without an end or showing error.
