i reli hope I'm wrong too. But as OH said.. I've been disappointed too many times oso. And there's no reason to believe them. Its best to reserve some skepticism to prevent big disappointments.

Have you changed your mobo? I have 2 N8 with mobo changed by NCC in Pragin Mall in Penang. The product code is 059B656. I tried to re-register the phone in My Nokia account (https://my.nokia.com/my) and found out that the serial numbers (IMEI) of the 2 phones are invalid. I just gave Nokia Careline a call this morning. They can't find the 2 serial numbers in their database either. They said they will check and come back to me within 48 hours. That is part of the reason I can't update the firmware.

So sad... I paid for the phone yet I need to suffer. I have visited the NCC in Pragin Mall for about 10 times for this 2 phones. 1 phone became brick and the other always auto-restart. Yet they gave me fake mobo. They also scratched my phone....

We understand your frustrations regarding the software update by Nokia C7 and N8. We do what we can to help you and here comes as a little explanation of why it is like it is. Nokia is a global company. We sell Smartphones worldwide. Every country, every region, every operator can have different requirements for their particular networks. In reality, there are therefore thousands of software variants for our various Smartphones. Each of these software versions must be encoded for each market, it takes time. We started with the flavors that are sold the most and here after we roll out the software as it is encrypted over the world. It is no trivial task to get it all to go into a higher unity. I can not show you a list of where our Danish variants are listed but it is unfortunately not on the same day worldwide. I would think that we have all variations ready within 3 weeks from today. We're sorry but the software update should not have been communicated before it was ready. We'll soon learn.

I updated 2 days ago Pr1.1, OTA,
the whole process took 5 minutes and 7mb...
Product code 0599756 - Dark Grey France.
I opted for OTA because of much anticipated PR2.0
when I will do a clean install
First I uninstalled v4.0 (thank you sklchan for this mod)
and I have not installed back after

What I noticed after the update:
- not as fast as I would have expected ... (Surely because of OTA, not clean install)
- same free memory on C: (Surely because of OTA, not clean install)
- 1 or max 2 MB free ram plus (Surely because of OTA, not clean install) 
- the date format changed of dd.mm.yyyy to yyyy.mm.dd,
I noticed that when I introduced a new meeting on the calendar
- and the worst thing was an unexpected restart after I sent a text message,
which never happened on PR1.0...
- I noticed the WiFi transparent icon in the top right when is ON
- 3 columns photo
- 'half' landscape dialer... 
- no reddish bug before, no reddish bug after
(I think this bug is from the light sensor not from AMOLED screen, just my opinion)

i believe nokia aim to partnership with windows in making perfect smartphones. i guess symbian still remain maybe for their mid range model or below. it is smart move actually to do collaboration with microsoft. microsoft still new platform for phone. meanwhile nokia see advantage if they start partnership with them.

its perfect if we can see windows and symbian together. imagine for symbian lover that everyday using windows 7 to sync their phone. then have option to install software in phone or using phone to navigate pc. dont u all think it is perfect blend after all?

p/s: just my 2 cents or my point of view
