Just tested by taking picture inside my drawer...What I can see is the normal noises.. but no purple thingy. As discussed since Nov 2010, This phone performed well wth sufficient lighting and not only you dissapoint on low lighting. me too & most of use here ...I did numerous comapriso9n & posted here already comparing low lighting effect wth an high-end Digicam..Confirmed Nite shooting very bad. bcos of lack of manual exposure option that can prolong the appeture timing.

That's why we are waiting for firmwar V2.0 to solve all this nite shooting problem...But try to post your picture here-lah for us to see whether thare's any puple tint or mere low lighting noises...

Purple screen??? Mine one ok woh...that the screen saver effect lah...if you choose power saver mode then the clock will be totally black...

Then those purple thingie will get more obvious if you cold down your N8 in an aircond room...

Having aperture f/2.8 without manual override on shutter speed is really a dissapointing thing. f/2.8 is quite good for low lights if we can select slower shutter speed or bump up the ISO to 3200 manually. Now we have to figure out things via the confusing settings but on hindsight, it's a phone camera so we should have nothing to complain about.

i update via ovi suite..i just said if can't wait, actually u can just change the product code..and void the warranty also..wrong move can also brick your phone..be carefull..

just now i tested my N8 set for this purple tint issues, well i dont see any purple color when i snap photo with flash off in low light condition ...
