Try disabling your antivirus and firewall. Clear cache folder.

Hrm hmm.gif

Run the launcher and see if it's up to date?

Dunno, can be one of many reasons. Virus in the PC? Corrupted WoW installation?
If all else fails, you have to reinstall wow.

A temporary fix to solve this issue is to disable your sound:
Windows XP
Step1: Right click 'My Computer' and click 'Properties'
Step2: Select the 'Hardware' tab and click 'Device Manager'
Step3: In the list expand 'Sound, video and game controllers'
Step4: Right click your sound device and click 'Disable'
Step5: Reboot and play.
Windows Vista
Step1: Right click 'My Computer' and click 'Properties'
Step2: Click 'Device Manager' in the tasks list on the left.
Step3: In the list expand 'Sound, video and game controllers'
Step4: Right click your sound device and click 'Disable'
Step5: Reboot and play....more

Did he really fall for the System32 joke at a glance? doh.gif Looks like it's time to educate another.

Try running the repair tool after you deleted the MPQ.

Usually when things happen (like what happened to TS), i recopy my backup wow client in my external drive and voila, usually it get fix.

First of all, if you plan on using the computer, you should NEVER delete any of the system 32 folder. It is full of files that are crucial to system operation. If you are cleaning out a hard drive, (or computer-if you just got it used) it would be easier to reformat the drive, and reinstall everything after backing up all the files you want.

If you are trying to get rid of a virus- let an antivirus program get rid of it as it can distinguish good between bad. Norton is not always the best choice- sometimes you need antispy/adware also.

Norton is horrible. MalwareBytes/Microsoft Security Essentials are the ONLY way to go.

I use OSX , where can I find system32 folder ?

Anyway it happens when a file gets corrupted , run the auto-repair tool and it will scan and redownload , if that fails , randomly delete some mpqs , so that it will redownload
