QUOTE(liez @ Feb 8 2011, 02:01 PM) this coming from a newspaper that claimed Pepe wants to join Man Utd. I'd laugh my ass off if it is April, but this time around, newspapers are just spewing nonsense all year around. Nothing interested to sensationalize, so they made one up.

OH yes, pure ecstasy is what I can make of last night's game. Arsenal these days play with much lesser passing and really making effort pushing the ball forward. Though the possession seems lesser, there is more purpose with every attack and every players making it a point to get behind every ball. Kudos to Arshavin for being an effective forward. You see him bombarding the Wolves area each time, but instead of losing the ball immediately, he is now doing more passes. Although I miss his penetrative dribbles, he is now varying his styles, making it difficult for defenders to read him.
Its scary thinking about the upcoming barca match, but like everyone else, I'm looking forward to see again two similar playing style teams slugging it out. Obviously barca is favorites, but obviously Wenger won't choose a defensive style of play. Regardless of what the outcome, I'm willing to see a different strategy albeit a common strategy, one that the Arsenal have always been comfortable and excel playing with. If everyone give their best, anything is possible in a game. Right guys?

Yea, I heard about Nasri too. But if he's not ready, I think its better Wenger think twice about playing Nasri in the first leg. We need all the fresh legs we can get this month and next because a lot of crucial games are being played. Personally, I'm willing to let Nasri sit in the bench until he return his match fitness again. Its a risk to let Nasri play against Barca after an injury.

Good thing is that Barca do not favour set pieces or crosses, whereas apart from cutting in the middle and playing wide, arsenal can play crosses well, provided that chamakh is put in.

QUOTE(aladdin @ Feb 21 2011, 06:52 AM) omg..if we get thru, we going to playt with manu Have some faith in our team. On our good day, we can beat any team in the world. Yesterday's match is no fair reflection of the whole team. For one thing, yesterday's match shows that the second string players need more game time. So I guess its a benefit for them having a replay in the FA Cup.

Good news guys. Xavi Hernandez will rest for 7-10 days due to calf injury. Their benchmen must be happy. My guess is Xabi Alonso gonna take his place.

c'mon guys. No need name callings. Everybody feel the hate towards trollz, but lets not allow the negative emotions exist in this thread. I'd rather we talk of good things about our team. Its sad when we have 3-4 pages talking about trolls when we could speak more of our team. As you guys, I'm also looking forward to watching the game tonight. I'll be watching the delayed show instead, so I'm telling myself not to peek this thread until after I've watched the game ends. Added on February 23, 2011, 4:35 pmQUOTE Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Wednesday night's game against Stoke City could prove vital as he looks to secure a first Premier League title since 2004.
The Gunners can move within a point of leaders Manchester United with a win at the Emirates. The game has added importance with Manchester United playing twice before Arsenal's next game at home to Sunderland on March 5.
Should Arsenal slip up against Tony Pulis' side, then Wenger could find his side ten points off the pace by the time the Black Cats make the trip to the capital.
"This is a very important one for us,'' Wenger told Arsenal's official website. "The best way to win the Premier League is to win the game. It is only that which is important.
"If you want to keep in touch with Manchester United, which we want more than anything, this game is vital.
"We have given so much in the Premier League, we have gone through so many difficult periods and have come back with such resilience.''
Arsenal have comfortably won both previous Premier League home games against the Potters, and have not lost to them on home turf since 1981. It is a fixture which has history, with Wenger often critical of Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross - who was sent off after breaking Aaron Ramsey's leg last season.
Wenger will be without in-form striker Robin Van Persie (hamstring) and defender Laurent Koscielny (back), but hopes both will be fit for Sunday's Carling Cup final against Birmingham.
It may fall to Andrei Arshavin to fill Van Persie's boots, and Wenger is confident that a player who has been low on confidence can rediscover his form.
"I love Arshavin because he's a player who can always give you hope that he can make the difference,'' Wenger said. "He was troubled by confidence problems for a while but he is now back and that goal against Barcelona helped him.
"He is a top-level player who lives on success and when it doesn't go for you for a while you question 'What am I not doing right and why?'. Nobody is immune to that.
"I have seen so many big players - and believe me Andrei is one of them - and they all go through periods like that. It is part of being a human being.''
Meanwhile, Wenger has confirmed that Ramsey will return to Arsenal when his loan spell at Cardiff ends this weekend, despite manager Dave Jones' attempts to keep the midfielder until the end of the season.
"I intend to use him,'' Wenger said. "I have had good reports from Cardiff. He could be available for the second game against Leyton Orient on Wednesday.'' Good news indeed! I can't believe Ramsey may have a chance to play this season. This post has been edited by funnyTONE: Feb 23 2011, 04:35 PM

Yea, I'm also wondering where is the source about Samir Nasri's latest signing with Arsenal. The last report from him was that he said he doesn't want to discuss about contracts until after the season ends.
But if the news is true, I'm a very happy man. At least if the bleak chance of him moving away from Emirates to another league/team next season, Arsenal might make a big money out of it, ya?
