Hi guys,

I played WoW since the vanilla days and early BC days. Recently I've been thinking of getting back into the game.

However the thing is, I've forgotten my login name and password from so long ago, I'd say more than five years. To make things worse, I think both required to merge the WoW and Bnet account and not just CD-Key? When I tried the merge account option and then add a CD-Key and key in the keys, it's said that those keys is claimed (I guess that's refering to the fact that I register the game years ago and yes I still kept the retail boxes till this day)

I was wondering what I can do to play it back all over again, seeing that I've a lvl 70 Druid from back then. I also heard about the resurrection scroll thingy and I wonder if that will help. Not too sure which email I used back then for the account, it could be firedudewraith[a]hotmail, sadguy85[a]yahoo

Any help? sad.gif

I'm sure there's a way to retrieve your login name. If in doubt, e-mail Blizzard and tell them your problem.
Once you've used your CD-Key AFAIK it's worthless and you might as well throw it away, it literally does not come of use at all anymore. Now everything is bound to BNet, so once you retrieve your WoW account you bind it to that, and if you play SC2 or anything it'll use the same account.

Scroll of Resurrection is a 14 day trial you give to your friend who's been frozen(I.E. no game time) for I think 2 months? If they reactivate their account after the trial you get free game time or something

Do you remember the email account that you use to register the original Wow account? If you still have the original email account that you registered, you can request and new password to that email account. I think you get the username that way too.

thanks for the reply guys, the confusion are mainly caused by having multiple account back then as well as different emails and stuffs (ie, we both hv our own copies and shared, etc)

i've tried for a few days with all the methods (even emailing them), except calling their hotline directly.. but i'm convinced to give up all those things of past entirely and start anew.

since a good friend of mine has stopped playing WoLK last year and offered to transfer everything to me, so i'll just purchase Catalysm and play on.

i've also recently downloaded the 10-day trial just to warm up and stuffs.. and i notice that i'm having a ping of around 400-500 mostly. usual questing is fine, but when i get into warsong gulch, it lags so terribly to the point of unplayable. i'm on the americas / ocenia server, did some digging, found out the server is actually Los Angelas. I was wondering if there's a malaysia/sg or SEA based server so i won't get into so much lag? i also tried to stay away from private server (just want to experience the game in its purest, original form, ie. no lvl1-85 in 2 days thingy), wondering if fellow LYN here has an opinion on this issue? biggrin.gif

I'm playing on Barthilas Oceanic, it's relatively okay. While it's laggy, there's no ridiculous lag spikes or anything to break the game. When I do instances though there are random spikes every like 5 minutes, but nothing too major. But this is with like 5 other people usually.
I've also tried one of those PvP arenas recently and they play relatively fine, I've scored a few winning goals on CTF.

You should try wow taiwan. Zero entry cost. No need to buy expansion. 100ms latency.

Or just get UniFi , UniFi has an awesome latency, i am getting around 300ms for normal , when I do 5 mans , it can go as low as 255ms. AV it shoots up to 380ms

The huge upload stream is able to compensate for latency.

Do you mean vanilla Alterac Valley? Those are gone man. sweat.gif Now its a zergrush to kill Bal/Galv then on to Vann/Drek. No PVP whatsoever unless horde side (or rarely alliance side) force a turtle by defending at either Galv or Frostwolf.

I constantly get about 200-245ms during normal gameplay, BGs and arenas w UniFi. But I had horrible experience in AV whr I got kicked out of game for more than 5 times. In the end I just choose to guard the graveyard =/

CD-keys are not worthless after you enter. In some cases blizzard ask you to take picture of the cd-key and fax it to them to prove your ownership
