Actually with inflation is threatening and a lot of countries unrest because of inflation issue, emerging market that troubled with inflation is not preferred by foreign fund now.

Serious inflation problem lead to
1. Higher interest rate may need to adopt - bad for equities
2. Political instability - bad of equities.

That's why we see US market despite going up, other bourses may not follow.

Just my view.

My view, inflation good for businesses but bad for the people. But i would stll prefer an inflation than any deflation .

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_chrysler_loans_apology <-- Another balls being grab by the Gov...

As far as i can see, even if the RON97 price goes up to 2.90/litre, they will not suffer like the 308 election shock. Pakatan is not doing much except DAP in Penang.

Bcos now everyone knows that our oil price is considered the cheapest in the region. icon_rolleyes.gif

I just realised that most companies will report FY10 results in two weeks. icon_rolleyes.gif

Today's volume is exceptionally huge reaching 3b soon. Another round of QE is here?

IOI Corp, a Malaysian palm oil planter, said second-quarter net income rose to RM520.2 million from RM461.2 million a year earlier.

Revenue increased to RM3.97 billion in the three months ended Dec. 31, from RM3.06 billion a year ago, the company said in an exchange filing today. -- Bloomberg rclxms.gif

And for tin holders icon_rolleyes.gif

The tin price on the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) soared to another all-time high today, rising sharply by US$500 to settle at US$32,200 per tonne, as supply fears continued to pressure the price.

A dealer said overseas buying has been the engine behind the price rally, which is expected to continue as traders continued to chase supply.

"Sellers are refusing to sell at the current price level as they waiting for the price to reach US$35,000 in the near future," he added.

Similarly, the tin price on the London Metal Exchange (LME) also hit an all-time high of US$32,550, moving higher by US$750 per tonne on lower production, especially from the world's second largest producer of the metal, Indonesia.

The local market was closed yesterday for the Maulidur Rasul holiday. At the opening bell today, buyers bid for 100 tonnes, while sellers offered only 30 tonnes.

Turnover decreased to 55 tonnes from 59 tonnes last Monday, with the participation of Japanese, European and local traders. The premium between the KLTM and the LME narrowed to US$115 per tonne today against US$365 per tonne previously. -- Bernama

Oh? BFM ?
MY packaging counters HPI and Scientex have given me an average return of 40% and counting. Btw, HPI sold off already. Scientex have been holding for 6 months.

Why i like packaging counters? As i'm in this line and they've been my dad's company's suppliers for 20 over years and so far they've got a great mgmt and service is good. that's what i heard from their sales rep. icon_rolleyes.gif

Btw, just sold half of my scientex holding. Planning to add more plantation to my portfolio.

My 9016 also making a push, because of this news ? hmm.gif

Scientex also dev some properties @ Iskandar Development Region..
main income is still packaging... last i read they are expanding their plastic packaging plants...
*
Yup, they even have a TAMAN SCIENTEX in johor. But i personally think packaging margins could be squeezed/ thin in the coming months due to competition from middle east and china. Just my view. icon_rolleyes.gif

Competition from China is always there and has been intense but from Middle East? hmm.gif
*
Yes. Somehow their pricing is cheaper than Malaysia but though their margin is thin but they have got the volume.

Hmmmm curious meeeeee.....
i read on TheStar... Supermax says that their production line can swtich from making Latex to Nitrile gloves... so flexible ?? only Dato Stanley is high tech.. or everyone else have the same technology ?
if only supermax can do that... then they have upperhand loh.. imo smile.gif

I think it involves mostly on the mixing process of the raw materials. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Contemplating to add finance or more plantation to my portfolio. hmm.gif

Err this one you are referring to is China or Middle East? If middle east which country specifically?
*
Middle East. We've tried entering Dubai and UAE market but without success. The rest dunno.

As for China, if not for their currency, they would not be able to export their goods that much. The standard of living and cost of doing businesses in many places of china has already risen though i must admit, their domestic market is large enough to feed off.

Please correct me if i'm wrong... Middle East their RAW mat is cheap compare to us.

It's pretty much the same . It's just that they have a larger domestic market than we do.

And do you know that we are the top 2 exporter in the world for plastic packaging products ? icon_rolleyes.gif
