If you are playing fps games like cs/sudden attack definately take the 3H over the in-ear's as you need the soundstage to hear footsteps. The in-ears are more for portability with an mp3 player or something or if you are playing rts games like starcaft II and dota where the sound direction is not nearly as important    Good luck making your choice
