40M for Carroll beggars believe to be frank. FSG is really putting a statement of intent, Im quite speechless as well. Afterall the owners did promise the entire sum of Torres sale for any player purchase I'd think if it was Aguero or Llorente people would be like yeah 40M get him! but we are talking about Caroll ,unproven in Europe and internationally. massive-massive gamble, Im never thought i'd see the day Liverpool are going to shell out 40M on a single player. Its absurd.

I just have a feeling that the amount is just being bandied about. Afterall this is Sky Sports. the same news that mentioned Babel was on a chopper to West Ham for medical on the last day of the transfer window and Benzema to Liverpool.

Liverpool bid 25M for Caroll at 1130 was rejected and they added another 35M at 130 10M within 2 hours? and this is the same Liverpool that was negotiating with Ajax over a 5M evaluation on Suarez. This season can be considered a writeoff since we arent exactly lighting up the league and i'd think well do OK with Suarez till the end of the season furthermore SKY makes it look like we are that desperate for a replacement for Torres, I wouldnt be suprised if Sky are bigging the news up to sell more papers or get more hits on their site. afterall the gimps thrive on this news.

but then again i wouldnt be suprised either if Carroll comes
