Okay, so which factory manifactured that Lacus figurine? For all my lurking around various toy imageboards and Japanese figurine news/fan site, I've never heard of such figurine, save of it being displayed at WHF or something >_>

Providence wins for the Otome figurines. Anyone feels like planning a raid on his house, to loot his stuffs? >_>....

If you want it better get it fast - selling like hot cakes at XL BTS

QUOTE(320cbr @ Jan 22 2006, 09:49 PM)
say providence where u pre-order ur stuff?
*
I usually preorder at DC Sg Wang, very much cheaper compared to XL's pre-order. But you have to wait for at least 1-2 months for it - thats the bad thing. DC doesnt bring in much Japanese figurines - they are only side dishes for them, so you have to basically ask them whether they are bringing in new items or not.

Hey, I'm kinda new at this thread here, and I seriously don't have any knowledge about figures, gashapons, and the rest.

My friend's birthday is coming up, and I thought of giving her something she likes a lot... So far as I know, the animes she watches and likes are FMA, Gravitation, and the Gundam series.

My budget is below RM150, and I think a pre-painted figure would do best (she doesn't really favor gashapons and art). A scale of 1/16 sounds good, unless you guys suggest otherwise. smile.gif

Now, my access is only to KL, so that leaves me only to Sungei Wang, Times Square, Lowyat Plaza and BB Plaza. As providence said a few posts back, you can get it cheaper if you pre-order. If there's stock, does it mean that the price of the item would be the same as pre-order price?

I have a few more questions to ask:

1. Are in-box items rarer and priceier than those that come in plastic packages?

2. How does the pre-ordering fashion go about?

3. What shops you guys recommend I should take a visit?

4. How do I get to BB Plaza? (Yeah, I know this sounds stupid, but I don't go to KL often tongue.gif) Any easy routes on how to get there?

I hope I can get a nice prezzie for her with you guys' helping me. Thanks!

Friend or Girlfriend? laugh.gif

I have a few more questions to ask:
1. Are in-box items rarer and priceier than those that come in plastic packages?
All pre-painted figures usually come in boxes. Only gashapons or trading figures sometimes come in plastic packages. If you find any pre-painted figure in plastic-bags, dont buy ~ imitation ones. Rare items are very hard to find in Malaysia and will cost you a bomb to buy it

2. How does the pre-ordering fashion go about?
you can get it cheaper if you pre-order. If there's stock, does it mean that the price of the item would be the same as pre-order price?Nope. Stocks will be sold at current market price. BTW, when is your friends b'day? You will have to wait at least 1-3 months for pre-order items. Pre-order is like booking an item before it's officially launched. At this time no fixed price for the item yet, so the supplier will just give a rough estimate on the price based on the Yen(Japan Currency).

3. What shops you guys recommend I should take a visit?
If you aiming for pre-painted figurines. I would suggest you go to XL-shop. Although a bit expensive, but they got a wide range of selections there. Diamond Comic at BB Plaza also got some but be ready for their not so nice attitude

4. How do I get to BB Plaza? (Yeah, I know this sounds stupid, but I don't go to KL often ) Any easy routes on how to get there?
Depends where are you from and what transport are you taking. It will be easier if you can inform us about that first

BTW heres some guide for you
XL-SHOP Just click on the branch to view how to get there maps
Diamond Comics
Animetech Becareful of this shop as they also sell imitation goods. Their price is also quite high
These 3 shops are the ones I frequently visit to get my stocks. The one in Low Yat ~ I havent been there yat so far doh.gif

Just visit the links I provided, browse through their products and you'll find what you want to get for your friend biggrin.gif

Hey providence, thanks for answering most of my questions. It's quite clear now with your explanation. BTW, it's my friend. Seriously. smile.gif

My friend's birthday is at the end of April - May (CRAP! I even forgot the date itself! sweat.gif ), so I should have sufficient time.

I live in Subang Jaya, and don't have a driving licence yet, so the public transport is the only way for me... BB Plaza anywhere near those stations? smile.gif

Recently I visited Animetech shops, and their prices seriously blow my wallet into flaky pieces... and I thought that their prices were about the 'standard'. Luckily I checked here for information first. thumbup.gif

XL-Shop's range of products are quite wide, and I hope it would come cheap too. biggrin.gif I might have to do a little scouting! Diamond Comics --> not so nice attitude? laugh.gif

adwin, many of my friends want to get the Strike Freedom too, although I myself haven't seen how it looks yet... tongue.gif

There's a LRT station near Times Square (LRT Jalan Hang Tuah - correct me if I'm wrong). If you can get there, its nearby BB Plaza. There's a monorail service from KLCC to Bukit Bintang area also. I myself dont take public transport, so cant help you much here....

About Diamond Comics, you'll know what I mean when you go there later, my advice just show some interest in buying their merchandise (although you not buying any) and maybe they will layan you a bit

seems like XL has been very bold these days by bringing nude figures. Then again, it's good news for us. We don't have to bother ordering online and end up confiscated by the customs
