Okay i dented a friends car door, apparently the dent was centered around the end of the front passenger door and the beginning of the left side back passenger door. It's slightly large probably 10 cm on the one of them the other is minor few cm.
How much should it cost to repair this? i got an estimate for the repairs rm 600, its a gen 2

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead but i finally got the statement, and i honestly think im being screwed, ill be calling the shop at daybreak
1. To repair front door, Rear door, Mudguard, Bumper rear 2. To charges spray painting.
> rm750
I am only responsible for the doors, and they were only minor fenders, shes asking for rm 650 for that. If i find shes f***ing with me.
So she wants me to pay rm650 for the 2 doors.... seriously? theres 2 other things there. and the statement doesn't state each repair price.

Reapiring the dent are quite cheap and applying back the putty are quite cheap, ~rm30-50... But spraying the paint back is something that will kilss you. 1 door rm200-250. For damage like this, they won't spray the affected area, but the whole door.... I know you are very butthurt on forking out rm750 for this small repairs and looking for members here to support you, but face the fact, this is the price you shall pay. Or you can dig few more workshop nd ask around, the cheapest you may get is rm700....

So for 2 circle dents like that they need to spray the whole f***ing door? I honestly find that to be bullshit.

Nope, they are not scammers, is you trying to make it sound that they are scammers. As said, ask around and see who will do this for you... Or you spray your self, close case. You only need 3 cans of spray which is rm90 only max.

I've scraped my car door + bumper and ruined the paint, and damaged my side skirt, to have it all repaired for the same price, and i know for a fact, that this issue right now is not the same amount or greater effort than the other incident I've been in.

Of course you can spray the affected part only. But the result will definitely be uneven (difference can be noticed by the naked eye). I'm sure the car owner wants her car to be perfect again so i guess you'll have to go with it. Your best bet is to find shops which can do it for you at a slightly cheaper rate. In my experience, i rear ended my friend's car before. His bumper was deeply dented with slight structural damage. Paid RM 700 for the repair and spray job. That was back in '07 so i'm guessing prices are higher now. Hope this helps.

Case by case and depending on location.... Solid or metallic paint also got price difference... As long as no photo shown, we won't know the actual problem....

Fast forward 11 years later in the year 2022. I just did ketuk for my Exora. A Ford Ranger kissed half of my boot (bumper still OK) while I was at the red light.
So I did mine at USJ 1 workshop, the shop quoted me 1) Ketuk only - RM 180 2) Ketuk + Spray = Rm 450.
In the end I went for just ketuk, because I needed the car urgently. Will consider doing "wrapping" later for the boot.
