if i'm in KL right now, probably i'll find silentser and crossx to do a gps h/w fix for me somehow. i've been staying with darky 8.0 for about a month now, only updated the speedmod and r64 themes somehow. the only thing that bothers me right now is the gps, i got before the october punya phone. aiyoyoyo

QUOTE(silentser @ Feb 12 2011, 06:07 PM) looking for me? Added on February 13, 2011, 12:08 am right now im testing modem by modem to see which one suited us the best..... QUOTE(CrossX @ Feb 12 2011, 06:43 PM) haha good good... but so far JPY serves me best... i tried asian firmware gps and it didnt perform well... in fact it was poor... LOL. i've searched all the possible fix for gps in galaxy s ( h/ware and s/ware), but it seems still not really reliable la. im trying the jpp modem right now, it more power saving to me. Added on February 13, 2011, 12:47 am erm... lol sorry but its scary enuf to open up mine let alone stripping ur phone and messing it up... could guide u if u need thou crossover, dont u think that jpy drain battery a lot? i've tried it before and my phone only last up to 9 hours if im not mistaken. or is it me only? QUOTE(freakfingers12 @ Feb 12 2011, 07:45 PM) Come to think of it, my most probable next droid would be one from Samsung. I don't think I could live without touchwiz now. I love the swipe right left for call and texting, I love the smart search in dialpad, I love the swipe left right on notification bar for brightness. Only thing is the unpredictable lag. Without hummingbird, that shouldn't be a problem. YAY! hoiii bro, how's ur theme going on? cant wait for final finish alrdy. we need a person from malaysia to represent us in xda. LOLAdded on February 13, 2011, 2:18 am exynos aka orion. Edit, didn't read your phrase.. I thought you were asking what is exynos. Haha now I see.. BTW guys, just wanna share. http://ampache.org/ Go to market and search ampache, there's 3 clients. |

QUOTE(CrossX @ Feb 13 2011, 06:55 AM) sgs's gps not consistent XD oh i see. thanks for the explanation. i tried it last night around 3.40 a.m like that, and the satellites locks superb. but then in 10 a.m cannot already. haiyaa, im with JPP. i love the battery life on JPP. im a person who always go out, so jarang-jarang charging. when i 1st bought mine, can lock in a few seconds b4 i realize there's gps lock problems, and the next few times is like hell... so far only JPY gave me the best experience, battery drain is there but didnt really bother and doesnt affect me also... now trying to flash another doc's with JP2 modem Added on February 13, 2011, 1:02 pm ooh will try and see if i'm bored how is it like compared to speedmod? QUOTE(silentser @ Feb 13 2011, 11:57 AM) yeah, me too. i think i have to wait ler at least 5 months ka, even the newly released iphone4 also got defect right?btw silentser, bit off topic, did u watch 2D1N too in KBS? how long already it airs in astro? i've been missing out too many eps already, do you happen to know any dwload links? |

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Feb 14 2011, 04:26 AM) Agree 100% there. I was in the Apple section of LYN and stated in one of the threads that I had 400+ apps on my iPad. Straight away my post was deleted and I received a warning PM from the mod about discussing warez. No one even asked me first if those 400+ apps are proper paid apps or pirated apps. Knee-jerk reaction, no? So now I just read the posts there but am no longer interested to contribute. i'm with u. so far, i've been getting much more tips and updates from this thread, and also a long time ago i still rmember there's one user helped me alot in fixing my bricked SGS. ppl in this thred rocks! no harm done, but once i asked somthing about the FW in xperia thread, they dont even take notice. maybe bcause of my sig mungkin. hahaFile transfer without iTunes is do-able only if you have a jailbroken iPhone or iPad (keyword : openssh). Youtube lags on the SGS? Really? I'm on Digi and apart from a bit of waiting time when first loading a video, playback is smooth to me. Slightly jerkier when viewed in the web browser (I'm using Miren) but very convenient. Playback is crappy on the iPad, but I think it's because of Maxis (I have a maxis broadband sim in my iPad). BTW, this if off-topic - wanna ask you, is there anything that needs to be set in iOS to enable youtube client to auto pickup and play a video from a web link in Safari? This is not happening for me.. (try http://sugoideas.com) QUOTE(holypredator @ Feb 14 2011, 01:48 PM) yea papago SUCKS ... my GPS status says i got 5m accuracy.... the GOOGLE maps shows 5m accuracy.. The stupid papago shows 15m accuracy ...... PAPAGO will never go below 15m ... I NEVER SEE that happen b4.. Some people here seems to say papago is accurate for them ... i guess "15m" satisfy them... i cant complain about that.. Btw.... @decypher Yes, you freaking need a DATA PLAN ... TRUST ME .... Or else you would end up baling ur phone @ wall then sepak sepak .... Getting a lock without data plan is realy a B*tch .... It is to the point that you rather not have a GPS on ur SGS... Believe me.. it is THAT BAD.... QUOTE(Bap3 @ Feb 14 2011, 03:28 PM) my sgs is one of the first batch from maxis...i used papago...so far it never let me down...i dont give a damn about the accuracy tho as long i can get to my destination safely....do you really need the 15m to judge a direction?...you have eyes and brain..don't let the electronics take that..after all..it was a human creation..hehehe..am i right? ahh i'm so jealous about ur guys punya gps. i was trying to show off my SGS while driving in my car for gps, but still cannot lock properly. so gps a no go lah. but still, with SGS around, it makes me looks cool. LOL |

QUOTE(Bap3 @ Feb 14 2011, 03:55 PM) i'm using darky 9.2, gps opt apps..fasterfix and gps status to lock my sat first before opening papago...need little bit of patient...but average i can lock my sat around 10-30 sec..depend on the weather...but with my current setup...i must plan my journey first..and secretly lock my sat hehehe...nanti kantoi..haha...i'm used my papago from shah alam to cyberjaya to bangi..no prob... i see. i'm back with JPP modem, Jpe modem is good but terbiasa with the battery drain from jpp, jimat battery life skit. hehe bit off topic: i can say the LG Optimus 3D is the best one for now. looks amazing. |

QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Feb 14 2011, 08:22 PM) if i'm not wrong, maxis is the fastest while digi has the most coverage maxis is more expensive than digi no idea about celcom QUOTE(lch78 @ Feb 15 2011, 04:21 AM) From my experience, I do feel Digi is faster than Maxis in terms of data connection for internet browsing, while Maxis coverage is better than Digi in whole country. QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Feb 15 2011, 05:02 AM) Agreed. Digi seems to give me more stable connection with consistent speed. Maxis coverage is definitely better (in Penang island) but tends to be a bit inconsistent - sometimes I'm cruising along on HSDPA and suddenly the connection just stops there and then and picks up again after a while. Note: I have an SGS with Digi SIM, and an iPad with Maxis SIM.. QUOTE(benny888 @ Feb 15 2011, 07:08 AM) I have used all 3 telcos. Coverage depends on your area too. My vote : DIGI follow by Celcom and last Maxis. There is no BEST plan. Just get a prepaid of each and test first before committing a long term plan with any. One will know which is better within a week thanks a lot for the info guys. wanna try Digi later prhaps. |

QUOTE(CrossX @ Feb 15 2011, 11:48 AM) if u found any good deals remember to tell me also arr~~ XD wah, you know where to get? i'm thinking to have the white one. hehehecoz another friend also wan otterbox for his defy haha Added on February 15, 2011, 5:55 pm u mean just the back cover like the cover that came with the phone?? if so i know where to get... XD QUOTE(coD33 @ Feb 15 2011, 12:05 PM) For those of u havent got urself a casing, i recommend otterbox commuter. I found it a better companion compared tp my old sgp ultra slider coz it protects ur phone all round! It even has cover for the earphone jack! Its a combination of soft silicone rubber + hard outer shell. Unlike ultra slider, it does not attract oil at all. This was due to the surface that is like a matte hard surface i guess. Then the power button and volume rocker will be slightly protude, thus u can easily reach them. If u always go to recovery mode, this will come in handy! And because the back cover has a hard surface,u will feel comfort when holding the phone. I dont feel loose when holding it. Add extra grip compared not to bare case. I got one from garage sale do you mind sharing the link for the thread? |

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Feb 18 2011, 06:06 PM) I love the matt back cover and design, not to be forgotten the processor and screen yeap, same goes to me here. i've been waiting like for 4 years to get a high-end phone, so SGS 2 is a no-go for me. btw right now, the best thing that can ever happen to SGS is MIUI rom. i hope they can solve the problems tho, i really love the MIUI launcher. so simpleeee~ and for gingerbread to come to us, i guess we'll have to wait for another month perhaps. |
