the first and foremost I can think of having the 3G version is that it can save me from buying smartphones, with now twitter and facebook support announced for PSVita the 3G version looks more and more attractive.

I can't justify spending so many money on smartphones as it is one expensive purchase which get outdated very soon. The Vita looks promising.

well, if twitter or FB is your main communication tools then I think its alright to go for 3G... I on the other hand... prefer the conventional way... SMS is still wat i like most..

Well if PSVita can also do wifi tethering like iphone then you can ditch smartphones for it, and use it as wifi hub as well (connect with ur ps3 maybe). Then only thing left is battery life.

Seriously I'm hoping it can be at least 10 hours instead of 4 hrs like PSP.

i doubt that PSV will have 10 hours .
the hardware is more powerful than PSP , and with 3G it will reduce the battery life even shorter .

my life does not resolve around FB and Twitter . so 3G won't be necessary for me . cost efficient , i will buy Wi-Fi , cheaper console price and no monthly payment whatsoever .

I still have my phone(non-smartphone) with SMS. I'm just saying that with the feature replicating what smartphones did, there isn't a need for me to get a smartphone.

Well I guess it will all depend on the os which is something Sony is not particularly famous for. I think there maybe some android like integration.

Let's hope got more news in the upcoming tokyo game show.

nop , they introduce somekind of new game media . it's the size of a SD card .
AFAIK , all DLC is stored directly into this card

i think will last more or less like xperia play. coz for experia play they need allocate the battery to phone function as well. on the other hand vita runs better graphic. so i think if they upgrade battery should last longer.

then i guess 3g model has additional hardware so consume more battery to run??
