For those that have a Region B or Region Free player, Amazon UK is running a 2 for UK16.50, making each one about GBP8.25 per piece. Decent price for a Disney IMHO.

Most of the animations getting re-released, either with combination of DVD (if they were released previously as Single disc edition), or with Digital copy or without Digital Copy but DVD retained and changes on the cover art. What's all the non-sense releases for? In my opinion, people are happy with the previous releases and double dipping will definitely not make any sense. Despite that , some titles are released with DVD and don't see the whole point of it, what's Blu-ray for if they are ought to be released with DVD. What's the use of the DVD? Utterly useless when comes to talk about the point of sales.

They (the Studio's) , should put lot more effort in bringing on those titles which has not been given the Blu-ray taste. There's alot to be named and this has to be addressed quickly before the studios starts re-releasing animated films for no reason. One thing for sure is , they are remarkably looking at people double dipping for DVD? Digital Copy? Duh!. I'd rather have my hand on Single disc release. DVD And DC's are useless (not for some but many does have the similar perception)

Studio's should look ahead with more new stuff rather than old stuff. For eg , like bro john mentioned at one of his posts, Antz , should get released on Blu-ray, Lion King is somewhere around the corner for release, so do Finding Nemo. Should you look forward for an unreleased animated film , which one would you prefer to have it released on Blu-ray?

sky,

I believe the rerelease of some disney gen 1 bd titles are more in line with streamlining the releases with DVD, digital copy and not a ploy by them to get someone to double dip. They will stop making the ones with the older covers etc, and only produce new ones with the DVD, digital copy option like their new releases. In my opinion, in the states where with a 250M population, this helps a lot of people to still not upgrade to BD while buying for the future.

Releasing titles that are not released means money. In some cases, remastering, reauthoring. Its just prioritizing the releases as they see fit in the overall marketing plan. Disney is really one of those companies that very very rarely fails in getting the best PQ/AQ on their BD releases, so all in all,in my book, they are almost always the best with this regards. Of course, their main aim is to maximise profits, so in some cases platinum releases, re-releases to tie in with a new release are all marketing tactics to remain relevant.

Warner and some other studios are notorious for releasing sub par oldies, I think they shd be pot shot at more vocally...

Good also they re-release, for new user as me, I can get it with slip cover biggrin.gif as slip cover often missing in 2nd batch release. But this is different case for new cover re-release, as slip cover is coming back biggrin.gif

The DVD and Digital Copy do rubbish, but I am ok with it. Just put a side for no purpose...

I agree Studio's should look ahead with more new stuff (came with new special features, I hate studio's just recycle the features previously release in DVD dumping in BD). and also shall release those not yet release titles, like "The Lion King", "Finding Nemo", "Tarzan", "Pocahontas" and etc.
