QUOTE(Newbieeeeee @ Feb 22 2011, 10:31 PM)
heard the sal16105 is extremely sharp at wide angle, but extremely soft at telephoto. Anyone who is owning or owned this lens can clarify this?
'extremely' soft is an exaggeration la The Sony Alpha Thread V50!, The Orange Legion

Speciically to Newbieeee:
After much of my complaints of my tamron 17-50 backfocusing, I've decided to live with it and move to manual focusing to save my shots. After one or two months fiddling with the MF, I can safely say that I am getting much at MF now even with my tiny a300 MF. If done carefully and slowly the success rate of about 80%? So with this limitation, it has really taught me a new chapter in photography. And from experience, the lens has very good centre sharpness when shooting at f2.8 under GOOD LIGHTING. Under dark conditions, then you can see it's gettingsofter. I think all lens are like these, maybe ier or albnok can clarify. This post has been edited by zstan: Feb 25 2011, 03:49 PM |

35mm is not wide la on APS-C.
it's a 'normal' length focal length(same focal length as our eyes). |

lol no offense but, thinking that a 35mm(on APS-C) still doesn't make it a wide prime, although it is wider than a 50mm prime. wide primes are those below 35mm le.. 24mm,28mm or 16mm for that matter...
i scared the newbie will get confused of what is wide focal length, what is ultra wide, what is normal , what is telephoto...etc.. sorry ya no offense |

QUOTE(Newbieeeeee @ Feb 27 2011, 12:43 AM) got my a580+16105+BG. after few years i already change new lens lorrrrrrrr In the end got 16105 rather than 1750. Cuz uncle chin say after few yrs 3rd pt coating will start to come off. He said if you have flash, 16105 and 1750 is about the same alrd. 16-105 cost more than 17-50. good business deal there. I've dried the cam now, what is the next step? A little of the liquid went through the focusing ring of my lens, will the stubborn sugar from the liquid lure fungus to feed there? |

QUOTE(d4rkholeang3l @ Feb 27 2011, 12:13 PM) If u noticed, most reflection pics are taken at dawn, dusk or night...nt in daylight... what do you think about my shot?when the light is too bright, it would cover the reflection (or dark reflection will show up ) also,it depends on where the light source is from. if it's behind d mosque, impossible u can get a reflection from the angle mintii took. well, i m nt a pro landscape photographer but dats what i learnt from experience. reflections of lights on dark water surface is d best. other than that, it doesnt really appeal to me again, just my 2 cents it's taken at about 3pm when the sunlight is blazingly bright. |

erm, i think the 135mm STF(36xx) is considerably cheaper than the Zeiss 85mm f1.4(50XX).
