Spot is centre focus only, while Local you can choose your AF point. Quite useful if you need to change your AF point.

I guess panning shots are quite 2-D..means most of d time subjects r swaying sideways..that's where the panning action involve huh, and that's how d background's blurred with d sense of speed. For subjects moving onto or away from the camera d sense of speed is added with Zoom Burst instead.

hi, I have a question to ask is that, normally i read ppl blog thy teach , to panning, use suitable fas shutter speed, smaller aperture and low iso right ??

Nw the prbm i hav is why even i use n follow the guideline above my result jz a black screen....
however, if i turn my ISO higher exmaple:800...i only can make it panning... why ??
if higher ISO will be more noise....

and use auto.. muahaha

ok, 1 more thing is, whn my screen is black, thn i use my flash and i see thru viewfinder it is clear n bright totally nice, but whn captured the result come out is black...how come..?? wat i seen thru viewfinder and result is totally nt same...

Oh god.... Read the manual also for now onwards lol.

EVF = Electronic View finder.

OVF = Optical View finder

Your A33 uses the EVF.

ya, i m now learning iso, aperture, and shutter speed...whn i ok, so nw trying to learn panning by understanding more....
whn i learn more advance things i will master it very fas ...even not perfect....but still 40% good 60% not good...

SO i m try to learn more advance settings thn the normal will be better whn in the learning process n keep compare why in advance lvl shoot like this...this is my learning style...learn hard 1st, whn come easy...will be better, learn easy whn go hard nid to learn all over again./...
sry if  i m wrong...jz my learning way is like this....

ok, i dont like to use auto mode...will mde owself lazy...buying slt for suto mode like stupid, so i try using manual to try everything...see hw the other mode do, thn i try set in muanl and try get the same result...if not right thn trying again lo...

empty-ball: my advise, first, empty your head, its hard to teach a cup full of water, forget what u read online.

now, turn ur camera mode to P mode. set ur iso to auto. for the first 5000 picture, shoot with only P mode. everytime u shoot, when u review the picture, look at the aperture (F#.#) and shutter speed (1/###)  and iso used for that picture, understand why did it used F5.6 rather then F22, see why does the shutter speed is only 1/60 then 1/4000. why is the iso at iso800 or 1600 rather then 100 all the time. study ur environment too. after u get the general idea which setting goes for what kind of environment, u will slowly learn the A and S mode, and only lastly goes to M. do not jump to M mode directly, it will lead u nowhere.
