Just got myself a Used but very new Galaxy Tab. Having fun with it. It is a nice device that goes with my Digi broadband data plan. Not really brilliant for a phone replacement but with only data, this is superb.

What would be the best app to check the bandwidth for Broadband usage? I downloaded Network Monitor but it does not seems to be working.

Thanks for that.

That is exactly what I need. Also, would there be any apps that acts like ALT-TAB on a PC? I find that if i were to read something and need to jot down notes, I will need to go to home and then go to the specific application. Something like if i can change say the Search button to a shortcut that activate ALT-TAB app.

Or if I get you correctly, you could just hold down the HOME button and the last few applications (8, I think) will show up in an almost ALT-Tab like manner.

Oh wow, thanks for the guide. I am still a noop when it comes to Android phone. Will need to play with it more then. This is certainly very helpful!

Just curious, do you guys use Anti-Virus on your SGT? When I am using this, I realised that Malware can be working behind the scene. So just curious on how many of you do use Anti-Virus :-)

Just curious, will there be a way to change the Samsung Galaxy Tablet battery? Just curious... if we are to keep the tab for years to come like my Samsung i780. I have 3 batteries for my i780 and it is still going strong after 2 years +.

any users have mobile date drop issues please hands up !!

i m using digi. once a while my data will stuck. i need to on/ off data to "revive" the connection.
*
I swap between Digi and another provider. When I use Digi, sometimes the traffic will drop or hang. It's seems to be very common not only on the Tab but my previous Samsung i780 as well. I can conclude that this is a Digi issue. What you can do is to get another provider's SIM and try it out. The thing is that the place I use Digi is at it's borderline based on the map in Digi 3G/BB website.

I'm using viva book type case which i bought for Rm199· we can set it to stand in 2 position  which is good when watching videos
*
Wow. It's expensive. I saw it in Singapore and it's selling for SGD49.90. No offence rahuldave. I just got the surprised that casing's price in Malaysia is a lot more expensive.

I am also using the Tab with Viva casing but it comes together with the Tab (used).

Thank you. Will get it check it out.

Where can I send it to?
*
You can go back to Samsung Service Center. If you are in KL or PJ, you can go to Summit Subang Samsung Service Center. It would be good if you can further check out the location of the service center elsewhere in Malaysia Samsung Website.

What you need to do is to change the configuration:
Settings - Accessibility
When you click on Accessibility, it will prompt you a window. Just use the "undo" button.
After that, uncheck the "The power key ends calls".

This will allow your phone to continuously turned on when you are talking. Yeah, I had that experience too. Half way through an important conference call, I did that and it got disconnected.

Is there anyway to re-train Swype or to delete it's database and restart anew? Therre are some words that I typed wrongly but now it;s always there when I tried to type a certain word.

Got the answer :-)
Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Filter All>Swype>Clear Data

Phone charging the battery, seem like i out of battery already.
Will flash again with MoDaCo r3 Kernel after 2 hour charging.
BTW, does anyone here know how to backup IMEI in case we really lost the IMEI after bad flash?
*
Can we lost our IMEI number? I thought this is a hardcoded number in the phone. Also, I have a few curious questions:

1. I flashed my SGT to Rotohammer JME and then proceed to convert the kernel to EXT4. How do I confirm that both the Internal and External SD is on EXT4?
2. If I use *#272*(IMEI)#, I found that it only has got a few ISP. How do I get it to be on Singtel ISP?
3. Is there anyway to find out where to download the original Stock ROM?

The conversion to ext4 is only on the tab NOT on the external sd card

2. Those you can see are just the country codes : spore singtel is XSO

3. You can check it at www.samfirmware.com - you need your codes for PDA and Phone - check this:  Launch Phone and Dial *#1234#

Is your TAB rooted ? How did you installed superuser as this is only done through rooting not be separate installation
*
Hi Benny,
Thank you for the information. I managed to find the Stock ROM P1000DXJJ2 :-). After going through the forum, it seems that the next best thing to do after the EXT4 kernel is to have either Overcome or Modaco ROM. I will be migrating to those ROM :-). As for the performance now, I am getting about 1661. (With JME and EXT4).

Also, just another question, if I were to port back to the Stock ROM, do I need to reverse to the actualy kernal now that I am on EXT4?

how to know my tab roote or not?
I have download from xda forum..it's a zip file and i unzip it before transfered to my tab and then i install it

is it wrong?
*
Easiest way to determine:
I believe if you see an icon superuser as one of the app, it meant that you are rooted. To double confirm, download Titanium backup and install it to see if it can backup. If it does, you are rooted :-).

Alternatively, download z4root may be another choice :-)

I have just changed my ROM to overcome 1.4.2. Seems to be a lot faster than the Stock ROM. The steb-by-step tutorial is awesome!

Thanks Benny. Among zeam, adw or launcher pro which has performed the best on TAB in terms of lagginess
*
Just to share that someone wrote a review on all three over here. I think there are pro and cons for all three. I guess it will be more fun to try it out yourself. After all, these three applications are free. So no harm trying it and fall in love with the one that suites you most. For me that's one of the fun part of owning a SGT; trying out stuffs from the market.
