The rom is being updated regularly 6 updates since 28 Jan. His last update was 17 Feb. His rom name remain unchange at CM7 beta , so quite misleading

After using the 1.4Ghz kernel, my benchmark is now at 2100 points. (Standard 900++, after ext4+modaco 1700++). Significant improvemet when watching mkv high-def movie with subs. Now will monitor the battery life.

actually i am more interested to be able to see the files on another pc & manage them from the tab. that isn't possible?

I did follow the step on your post #4, but still can't retrieve MMS in my SGT. But I put my sim card to another handphone & it can retrieve the MMS, so must be my SGT setting goes wrong.

I think I will send it to maxis centre & let the staff there to solve it for me. Else, I need to send it to Samsung Service Centre.

Check the access point name. Should have 2 access point (Digi-diginet for internet) and (Digi MMS-digimms for mms). Then, use these setting:

MKV video file can play on Tab?

i am ordering DNA 16GB CL10 or KINGMAX 8GB CL10 for the preparation to root, convert ext4 and flash to new rom

finally got some times to study about rooting/flashing rom for galaxy tab while waiting OTA Gingerbread for my N1.

Wow you must be a high tech guy wishing to do this way: Google for these - need to use FTP. Sorry I can only write briefly here

TAB : Install SwiFTP FTP server download from market - need WIFI to work. Launch app and just follow to set it
PC : Install FTP client if you do not have - try FileZilla opensource client. Launch it and connect to server listed in the TAB

I think what you are looking for is nfs client.

you can accessed the files in your pc via filesharing. Just share the particular folder as how u would for other pc to access these files. Then find an client app on Android to access these files. Personally, I'm using ESexplorer which is a local sdcard browser, ftp client and file sharing client. All you need to do is to navigate to the LAN tab, key in the IP of the pc (if u know) or scan the entire network for shared folders. Once its done, add it to your list and put in the credentials required to access those files.

Then, u can access those files on the pc as if it is on your tab. You can copy/paste & move files between the pc and tab as well and of course vice versa.



Ps: if you have the admin credentials of the pc that you want to access, u don't have to share a particular folder, u can access them via the default administrative share such as c$ , d$ ,e$ etc etc ..

i'm not that techie of a guy . just wish to stream music & videos from pc to tab. can't get it to work yet. i donno what is the host name. there is username & password but what is host name?

btw, should it be PC- server and TAB - client, since i want to access files on the pc, not the other way round? really newb on this

any prob using modaco r3 + ext4? wifi, gps or camera issue? i am still reading and compare all mod ROM, don't know who hav stable ROM...

all the roms is stable (all working stuffs), but kernel such as OCs is not... and not to forget cm7 TT

On the TAb , key in your user and a password ( up to you ) - the rest just leave it blank or default
After you have key in this, you will see another screen - READ the 2nd tab ( Instructions ) . There is a website - go there and ask for help if you still have issue. Actually it is straightforward setup
I don't see any HOST ?? in the app. Did you dl the right app ?

For PC side - you can use any FTP client ; FTP works both ways. If you are not familiar with FTP, google and do some reading up before you start

Actually why would you want to stream - so leceh and is slow ??? Why don't you just copy it directly to the ext SD card using a cardreader or just connect TAB to PC using usb cable ( select mass storage ) and just copy the files over

My tab refuses to charge. Got error message 'battery temperature is too high/too low'. I suspect this is due to the 1.4Ghz kernel. Helppppp

Using nandroid backup, up reload back the pre-overclock version and its charge normally. Really a suspense process watching the restore process since the battery only got 3% left....

ajay, to grab file from pc i use es file explorer.but need setting for LAN USE WIFI..but got choice to use ftp in es file explorer also..u can streaming movie directly from pc to ur tab without transfering file from pc to tab.SWIFTP i never try coz i dun know how to setting ftp..lol..but thanks to benny give me idea how to setup ftp client between tab and pc..hahahaha

Try es file explorer. Can stream most file but cannot fwd mkv/avi movie, have to watch from the start.

yup cannot tipu2 skip2 and forward ..lol..
