Again, like I mentioned earlier... if you're already on Overcome 1.2.2... when you check on your system information, you should be running a kernel that states frank@OVERCOME #8X or #9X --- basically any kernel with a revision number that's higher than #45...
Then there's absolutely no reason to go to 1.2.3, other than wanting a higher version number! There's absolutely no reason for it. Seriously. ;-)
I know for a fact that the developer's working on Overcome ROM 2.0 as we speak. Just hang in there... it should be here soon. It's in the over right now...
However, if you're really insisting on having the latest ROM number... just get the Overcome 1.2.3 UPDATER (and not the full version which will wipe your system...) and just flash it via CWM. That's it.

If you're talking about 2.0... I'm not sure if a wipe is needed, as it's dependent on a few basis he's testing on right now... so no guarantees.
If you're talking about 1.2.3... then if you just use the updater (since you're already on 1.2.1 and kernel 2.0) and not the full ROM, then no wipe is needed
