1. Just get 2 guinea pigs , they dont really need humans companion .
2. As long 1 day 1 time can d.
3. Just dont move the box too much.
Other info :

You need to be very careful with gp. They can get sick easily and they wont show sickness till its very serious.
They also poop and pee alot. Are u prepared to clean them everyday?
You need to give them GUINEA PIG pellets not rabbit pellets or they might die.
Give them a good space to walk about , they exercise by that.
I bought a few guinea pigs from pets wonderland and i tell u its my worst mistake ever.

My first one died of some intestinal disease. i had it for 5 months + , so its not pw fault i guess.
My second one died of upper respiratory infection. i had it for 1 week only.
My third one died out of no reason , i had it like 3 days.
My fourth one died the same disease at the first one. had for 2 week only.
My fifth one had URI TOO!!

If you are interested , i have a tri colour short hair gp for RM40.

BEWARE OF THE EYE DISCHARGE!! MY 2nd , 5th and 6th GUINEA PIG HAD EYE DISCHARGE AND IT ALL ACTUALLY HAD UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION!
THEY ALL HAD THE SAME SYMTOMS AS URS! GET IT TO A VET QUICKLY TO GET EYE DROPS!

Unless the discharge is liquid type , its okay cause that thing is what they use as soap to clean their face.

Wahhh..thats very bad and now I am worried bout the gp i got from petswonderland = =

But the discharge dried up when I saw them. Today theres no more discharge tho. How bout ur previous 1? Did they continuously getting discharge or once every 2 days kinda of thing?

Yea I am interested, do u have d pic for me to see? Is is a female or male?

Added on May 22, 2011, 11:39 pmBtw,gps that u had with URI, when they wheek do they have some kind of wind sound? Like wind sound comes before the real wheek?

Added on May 23, 2011, 4:32 pmGosh my gp only weighed 200g  cry.gif  need to really feed her well from now onwards!

Just brought her to vetjuz in case of URI, she was given mabrofloxacin inj. Hopefully she will recover fast n grow up healtily flex.gif
*
mabrofloxacin!! did the vet teach u how to apply? u applying orally or topically? this is medication for cat and dog.. so hopefully u get the right dosage for ur piggy.. from wiki-->It is particularly used for infections of the skin, respiratory system and mammary glands, as well as with urinary tract infections in dogs and cats. For dogs, a dose of approximately 2 mg/kg is used. The duration of treatment is usually at least five days, longer if there is a concurrent fungal or yeast infection.

urs is 200g = so should be around 0.4mg only the dosage.. icon_idea.gif

Marbofloxacin should usually be avoided in young animals, during pregnancy where central nervous system accumulation can occur, or when there is an existing kidney problem. Under certain conditions it can cause discomfort such as cramps, treatable with Valium. Other side effects are vomiting and anorexia.

She was given a jab. I think which is less than 1ml coz vet said 1ml cost RM25. I brought back 1 small botol of mabrofloxacin, 3 drops per day for her starting tomorrow. I m so worried until i asked d vet so many stupid questions like the antibiotic is nt penicillin derivatives right? (then he told me d antibiotic's name), then how come theres sudden drop in fur after inj (he said, this is nt serious prob, dun worry) then how to give her the drops? (just feed it by the mouth, she will take it)..Haha, he sumore showed me the vet's guideline in treating exotic animals > <

200g is sooooooooooooooooo underweight...I am so worried when I heard that coz I think u mentioned that 1 month old gp shud weighed 500g / 250g? Anyway is still not at the standard weight cry.gif

hmm never heard of this medicine before. I know revolution, ivermectin but never this. huhu.

relax relax. My Luffy only 150gram when I bring him back. Now he grows up to 600 gram already. Just make sure you give her enough nutrient, fresh veggies, hay and pellet to eat. Btw one month gps usually around 250 gram. 500 gram will be around 4-5 month already. Thats my gps average weight during their early age.

yes.. it is quite good for them antioxidant -->n addition to their value as food wrappers for cooking, banana leaves contain large amounts of polyphenols such as epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG, also found in green tea. Polyphenols are natural antioxidants found in many plant based foods. According to an article by Augustin Scalbert and colleagues published in the January 2005 issue of the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition," extensive research is ongoing to help determine the extent of how polyphenols affect human cells, the oxidative process and its impact on disease prevention.

I think my GP miscarried. I return home from work to find one baby is dead, and the other 2 too freakin small. And the mum's stomach seems like it still have another inside, as if she miscarried those three and still crrying the other one. Is that even possible?

Added on May 24, 2011, 8:26 pmUpdate: The 2 babies appears to be in good conditions. Its just that they are super tiny. About the same size of my adult robrovski hamster.
