OMG, my Piggies got the hair mites too. When I Close see it the mites were moving up and down. Yucks.. I used the guinea pig shampoo to shower them with warmth water... then rub their fur. After finishing showered, I then let them ran around. Finally I put some baby powder for them and guess what ? they look happy. I did use vinegar with towel to clean around the cage, changed new bedding. Hope this fine after what I've done so far to get rid of the mites.

u mean carewise.. ur piggies tame d? i found out 1 thing lor.. if ur piggies is kept at a enclosed cage, they are a bit timid, they are scare of people 1... the moment they c hand come.. cabut lari lintang pukang... but if u have a open cage system, they are more brave, curious, and friendly...hand come sit still let u touch...

food wise, jus maintain high vitamin c vege, my piggies staple food is, carrot, capsicum(red, green, yellow) , baby tomato, occasionally, green apple and banana..then the regular timothy pellet and hay lor.. i feed them twice a day only

toilet training wise... nightmare if u have many in a cage, 1 may have been train , the other will litter everywhere then the trained 1 also will litter every where... my way is a bit cruel... i totally cut down their water intake.. their water is totally from vege and fruits they takes only...at nights i let them have their bottle for half an hour b4 i take it away from them.. if not.. the cage gonna be so wet.. as they love to play water bottle.. drink it and pee doh.gif .. laugh.gif

care wise, if u have long hair, u either trim it or care for it (comb, wash, comb) sweat.gif .. revolution and advantage medicine is a must have all the time to keep mites and lice at bay...apply once a week to prevent mites and lice.. as i found sometimes these mites might be coming from ur hay also...

topical, only buy the one for cats only.
user posted image
ur pigs weight in kg / 10 = dosage in ml
example xxx piggy is 300g
0.3 /10 = 0.03ml of revolution on the the skin on the shoulder bone..done.. normally 2 to 3 application should do the job.. wait 2-3 week b4 each re-application

soli for my previous post: is advocate not advantage for cats... get the one for less than 4kg one...
user posted image packaging about similar to this..
dosage is 1 drops each application.

Does the baby powder help? And can I know what brand are of baby powder you use? I want to try it on my pig smile.gif
My pig's fur seems to be shedding more than usual but I can't spot any problem on her skin.

Hope this thread hasn't died yet...

I need some help here!! What food did u guys feed to ur GP to make them fat... not to say fat unhealthy kind but at least the size is right for their age!

Currently my GP is getting thinner by the day even he likes to eat a lot. Right now, I can feel all his bones and so much lighter. The problem is, he chooses what he likes to eat only.. and wont bother the remainder foods on the bowl even if he starves!! Any idea or brand of pellets that would attract them to eat non stop??

He walks alot.. jumps a lot.. explores a lot maybe these caused him be thinner then the other GP (the other one is as round as a ball sweat.gif)

Or I am very worried if he has worms in his stomach... should I bring him to check up?? Where to find vet for small animals sad.gif

I'm putting this fellow up for adoption.
Interested parties please PM me in my inbox only.
There'd be an adoption fee to cover its cage, accessories and food...etc.
