both also can. if put indoor, let it face out through open window towards the sky, not face to indoor wall or indoor any blocking substance. but putting at outdoor will yield better/best result, many previous users has confirmed that. put just outside window already can see the difference.

the basics:

1) a prescribed "antenna core" responsible to provide high gain for a certain frequency band.
(for dipole rubber duck antenna unwrap the antenna ruber skin will see the antenna core inside; bare skeleton antenna then can seeing the core straight away)

2) a dual-band high gain antenna will thus consisted of more than one prescribed antenna core (different size / different shape), each responsible to provide high gain for different frequency band(s).

3) so if a omni antenna core is seen in same design from top to bottom (no different core shape/size), then it is actually providing high gain for single band only, not multiband.

A lot of product listed in international commerce site is actually providing false statement, particularly products from cn/hk sellers', they are well known of doing this all the time to fool average users.

not having omni now. bcoz users who use ext antenna need see obvious result, not slightly improved result or even reversed result. the ideal antenna still directional type. (based on directional antenna vs omni antenna performance in metropolitan wireless case - 3G, Wimax Wifi etc whereby the signal broadcasting source (base station) not at same floor with users. this kind illustration take long space)

And havn't really use real dual/multiband omni HIGH GAIN antenna (how make it?) and is the claimed HIGH GAIN dbi is actually true or false claim? because normally multiband antenna cannot achieve same high gain dbi for all bands it support, always lower gain.
