I'm seriously looking for a Papillon puppy and have been searching it in several pet shops but most of them don't sell papillon.

I'm here to see if anyone know any breeder or pet shops that sells papillon, please do let me know the breeder's contact or where the pet shop is. I would greatly appreciate it smile.gif

MKA is Malaysian Kennel Association.... they are sort of like a dog club where they govern the registration of breeding, new litters, approving MKA certificates for dogs all that.... they will also organise the dog show competitions or dog obedience trials etc....
you can know more about them in their website....
if say they cant provide you with breeder contacts due to insufficient papillon breeders in malaysia, you can always look out for the international dog shows which happens quite frequently, there will be people from around the world flying in to join the championship.... perhaps you can go there to see if there are any papillon contestants and find out how you can get one of their pups....

Sorry but I have to ask did you actually see the tag 'papillon' of the puppy you saw? Because there are few other breeds that look kinda similar to papillon such as the famous chihuahua and pomeranian, and I have to actually drive 1-2 hours to get there. Anyway, thanks for telling me this and giving me a hope! Looking forward to your reply.

Don't buy a puppy from a petshop. Spend the time to find a responsible breeder. If calling MKA or visiting their website didn't turn up much you can always go down to the next confirmation show (there will definitely be some Papillon people there who can help you out).

Good choice of breed though. Papillons are beautiful and often full of character (my little girl is a REAL character, trust me). They are pretty low maintainance and only really need regular basic grooming to keep their nails and ears in check.
They can be stubborn at time, but as they are also very quick to become attached to their owner, this often doesn't stand too much in the way of training.

On top of that, when their ears grow out into a full "papillon" it gives such a soft and beautiful frame to a truly cute and expressive face.

Good luck finding your Papillon, take the time to find a really great puppy from an awesome breeder and you will have made a great start.

Yes, I'm trying very very hard to find a breeder and not to get a papillon from a pet shop. I'm also an anti-pet-mill supporter. Will definitely take your suggestion. Thanks for the info and that are absolutely why I insist to get a papillon instead of others smile.gif .

and if you send you Pap to a groomer, make sure you tell them not to do anything to the ear hair as well as the crest at the chest
due to its rarity, some groomers might not have experience with it and don't know the correct style
some might even mistake it as a chihuahua
as a result, they give them the wrong trim
