price without controller + w/o controller itself.

Older Alpine HU version & Others brand Hu, yes.. Alpine newer version don't need..

as long the hu support ainet then it will work directly without controller. but some hu with less than 3 line display will having some difficulties when using..not so convenience....

got any good HU's to intro + can control this processor?

the pros? its very very very flexible and and user friendly... the SQ is definately there...

the cons? its not built on premium parts... like the F#1 processor...

all the alpine dvd players can control the processor, and some of the newer HUs can control also, so all depends on your budget la...

u will need the controller..

afaik alpine models that support ie control the processor are 9861, 9965 and the newer iva models (w200,w202,w502).. im currently using w200 with 701. very user friendly.

the one currently in shops is w520, which is about 2800, the rest are old models

all alpine dvd player will have support to their own processor without external controller. 202, 502, 520, 900 all can use with their h701/h800 without controller.

erm, not really remember le.....117 for sure, and 9886, 9855 should be able to.

zenn you are saying 9887 can control H701 also? the 4-way xover settings and EQ?

im not sure, but yes there are some non dvd players that come with processor control, thats why i was asking howie... guess ill have to check the alpine product booklets next time i visit KF or KKlau

afaik 9887, 9855 and the sorts only supports the ai-net link but no control. still need the controller...

yeah, some of the new ones have a feature called Processor Control, can check in their specs

new 502 expensive about 3200 if u can still find lah, 2nd hand not sure how much
current model is 520, only about 2500
