and also congrats to PASKAL. no matter whatever people say, whatever people cursed... you guys are kicking a$$. no need to shoot the pirates on the chest or on the head because capturing pirates or any bad guys ALIVE is 100% proving all the trainning and effort is well paid off.

splitting 6 billion into 6 vessels off course you got 1 billion each. but why we dont even think about other things? salary for workers, equipments, facilities, ToT, R&D, this that blablablabla... are we going to pay them with leaves? we not in stoneage era anymore. to get a hitech gadget off course we need to spend lots of money. same goes if we want to get our hand on Iphone4 or N900 or Blackberry Torch. mahal takpa janji aku boleh pakai Iphone4. so... its vice versa. like people who like to complain how expensive the oil price is. but in the end they need to fill up their car with that expensive oil because car cant move if we used water. except they return back to steam era... if they want to la.

so... why complaining? my dad busted his ass to protect this country and its people. same goes with my little brother and my late grandfather. what do they get? just lots of condemn and negative critics. i felt sorry for them and those who are retired, still in service and those who perished during peace and war time protecting this country. hmmmmmm... its up to us to decide what is best for this country. are we ready to protect is lovely and beautiful country? or raise our butt and flee away saving our own ass?

Monte Zain leaved his hometown of Alor Setar at the age of 20, he sailed as a seaman on a merchant ship on a voyage to the New World to pursue his unusual dream of becoming a Hollywood actor.

A young man of lesser character and determination would have been completely overwhelmed by cultural shock during his first week on American soil in June 1947 as he walked the streets of Harlem alone-surviving on bread and water from drinking fountains in New York Central Park - sleeping in subway trains and on park benches.

Deligence and thrift saw Monte Zain on the road towards an initial career as an actor. He studied and worked, sometime on three shifts in restaurant to support himself and his family back in Malaya, and not forgetting to set aside five dollars in a savings account from each paycheck to assist his friends in the "Saberkas" theater group to come to America for higher studies.

Life expose him to many types of people and interpersonal experiences. His likeness to Sabu of "The Elephant Boy" fame was a strong magnetic attraction in his many encounters with the opposite sex.

Circumtances beyond the control of mortal man intervened and short stopped his dream of a career on the Big Screen, but not before two of his Malayan friends came to join him in California for higher education opportunities. As for himself, Monte Zain joined the US Army, primarily, out of necessity and survival.

He finally became a citizen of the United States and settled permenantly in California with his Japanese-born soul mate.

Actually I disagree with M'sia spending too much money on military hardware. I mean who are we going to war with? Singapore? Indonesia?  We know we can't beat SG and we also know SG does not have the man power to occupy m'sia. Indonesia have their own problems and most definately do not have the resources to mobilise most of their military. So who excatly are we trying to scare off? I feel like its another reason for politician to dip their hands into the public pocket again....

QUOTE(DeFaeco @ Apr 29 2011, 11:31 PM)
That's because you only see the what's in the present. What about the future?

Keep in mind that merely 30 years ago we were at war with the communist party. 50 years ago we were at war with Indonesia. 70 years ago we were at war with Japan.

What about 30 years from now? Or 50? Or 70? Can you see the future and what's in store for us? Do we need to wait until foreign troops have landed on our soil before we start to arm ourselves?

It's not about being paranoid. It's about being ready. I'd rather we be over prepared rather then get caught with our pants down.

“The art of war teaches us to rely not on the likelihood of the enemy's not coming, but on our own readiness to receive him; not on the chance of his not attacking, but rather on the fact that we have made our position unassailable.” - Sun Tzu, The Art of War

ya military not only for war. With current situation our enemy is not only a country, it can be a group of advance terrorist with super technology.

Plus not only terrorist some global criminal is heavy equip also which might not something our police can handle and that time military have it role to prevent such people try to grow their power over our country.

And our country is surround by sea which some country might send their spy ship over here to check our military power if our military are not good enough to block or take them down, in near future when there start war we will be their 1st target to conquer. Since we not able to solve small matter how you got to facing a full ready force.

i believe we all know and heard these 2 proverbs... "SEDIAKAN PAYUNG SEBELUM HUJAN" and "BILA DAH TERHANTUK BARU NAK TERNGADAH"

it is not the issue of wasting the so called "rakyat money". actually what is "rakyat"? civillians? how about soldiers? their families member? civis who work inside the camp? civis who sweep the floor inside army camp? are those not "rakyat"? if not, what must we called them? barua? soldiers also pay taxes and same thing with the polices.

take example of land broker... a land owner wanted to sell his land for about 30k. when he went to see a land broker, that LB automatically raised the sum maybe up to 40 to 50k. "his upah" for sure. same with us... we do the same thing because we want to get extra bucks for what we are selling. no doubt about that. just go to 2 or 3 supermarkets and compare all the prices for a single item for example baby milk powder. and you will find lots and lots of different prices on one same item.

so to guarantee our security do we need our protectors to use just a "slingshot" or "arrow" or "stone" or "tipped wood"? tepuk dada tanyalah selera

try to take this into account,
the search and rescue of bukit antarabangsa landslide also mobilize the army.
the 2 MISC ship hijacked by Somali pirate also needed the army as the middleman between the company.
the escort of malaysian ship in Gulf of Aden to prevent any hijack attempt is also under the jurisdiction of the military.

the military spending is not just about war!  nod.gif
