seconded that,
its a shame to see an ex-ggk,vat69, or other sf after retiring working as "pak guard"... after all the blood sweat and tears, the government should take care of them after they took care of our country

It'll be a while before they're imported in, probably june. Anything gun related takes ages here due to customs. Even the Military needs to customs allowance for procurement.

They should equip them with skills for civilian life. Here there's Military HECS and the military does encourage soldiers to move to degrees and then move on to administrative corps. A member of the SAS is likely to sponsored to complete a degree at ADFA or be given new skills at Duntroon and moved to the admin side of the SASR for example and if they wish to leave, they have a recognized degree and experience, which makes it easier to get a job in the civilian world. The same applies to all branches.

We need something like reform of the armed forces organizational benefits, training schemes, admin, pay rates and so forth to create a leaner and more effective fighting force. And to throw off any notion of a lack of professionalism and intelligence.
