hey guys, just wanna inform Mobile Mouse Pro (Remote / Trackpad) USD 1.99 is now FREE for ONE DAY. It's a pretty decent remote app, so grab it while you can.

iTunes link (US Store) - Mobile Mouse Pro

Anyone got any good and FREE medical apps?

I got:
epocrates - give info on diseases and drugs
eponyms - provide brief summary on famous syndrome etc.
iRadiology - collections of xray and discussions
MedCalc - provide calculations for medical formulas
Medscape - similar to epocrates
Neuromind - anything to do with neuro

ProLog is good for clinical students, interns++. Remember to handle all the data anonymously and you're good to go.
other notables are like

EyeChart, iCalcRisk, ICD10 Codes, Medical Calculator, Skyscape Medical Resources, and WebMD Mobile.

I personally love Medscape and ProLog.

Thanks for sharing. But, not really tempting, I only got 8gb iPhone sad.gif
I wish there is a free differential dx apps like diagnosaurus or something.
*
WebMD Mobile kinda does do differential diagnosis, although it isn't mainly targeted to healthcare professionals. you can't get a premium product for free. like the bnf app, it still costs a gajillion dollars even though there're no printing costs. [the price is plus minus like the printed book.]

Yes, I agree. Most good/useful medical apps would cost you zillion $$. That is why it is very tempting to JB tongue.gif

What browser do you guys use? Want to find something to replace Safari.
*
i'd personally recommend iCab Mobile. It has tons of features, and you'd seriously love surfing on your iDevices. It's USD 1.99, but the features are all worth it.

or, you can try Opera Mini. it's FREE and useful if you use opera link.

QUOTE(lilster @ Apr 9 2011, 05:32 PM)
is there any app to check mail besides the mail feature already in the phone?

i use hotmail a lot but i realise it doesnt really sync. for example, after i read a mail and even delete it through my phone, i login my hotmail account through my com and find the email still there.
*
2 apps come to mind, which caters specifically for hotmail/live accounts.

first is mBoxMail which is priced at USD 9.99 and
second is mailPro which is slightly cheaper at USD 1.99

i personally use mailPro for my hotmail/live accounts and i'm pretty satisfied with it. Got the app when it was USD 0.99 and i think it's a decent enough app if compared to mBoxMail which is expensive.

Compare the two, and decide which one's for you biggrin.gif

Just want to ask,can I use debit card to buy apps?
*
Definitely. Just be aware though, for some banks like Maybank; you need to be authorized for online usage first before using. Its a one-time activation and its a simple enough procedure that you can activate through atm machines/online/or cs. Find out by asking ur bank's cs.

@skylinestar.

I use two. Maybank and CIMB. For Maybank, I need to register for Maybankard Secure Online Shopping.

Its under Utilities in your m2u.com homepage. Register, and you're good to go.

Dont know why you can buy etickets, but not for itunes. Have you ever registered msos?

Would you guys recommend getting Opera Mini 6.. or is it better just to stick with Safari..
*
I use iCab mobile browser (paid) and Opera Mini. Both are also highly recc'd. Mobile Safari is good, but the 2 i stated are better. biggrin.gif

I'm on ip4 actually.. Thanks..

ooopps. i saw u posting in an ipad thread, so i assumed wrongly.

anyway, on the top of my head - 2 things opera can do better than safari are:

1. open in a new BACKGROUND tab/page, so it won't interrupt the current tab/page that you're browsing.
2. i don't quite know how to explain this, but when u surf in opera, let's say you're browsing LYN right, you go to AppleByte. In the same tab, you clink a link to read a thread. after that, you click the back/previous tab - and the previously loaded AppleByte page will be there. In safari, or other mobile browsers - it'll re-load the page and you've gotta wait for a few seconds for it to load the same page that it has loaded just seconds before.

There're obviously loads more benefits, but i think these 2 are awesome on their own.

For iPhone4

1. Safari - press and hold the weblink, then pop-out, press New page. But limited to 8 pages.

*
You've misunderstood me. I specifically stated that Opera Mini will open the new tabs in the BACKGROUND if u want.

Unless Mobile Safari has changed the way they handle "Open in New Tab" since the last time ive used it, it'll be loaded in a FOREGROUND tab.

And @shinichi - there's hardly any good free versions for the kind of apps you're trying to search. It' good to invest in apps biggrin.gif

btw, if u use 3rd party ones... when backup/restore time, the content/entries arent saved right?
*
not sure if youve gotten your answer yet, but NO they dont. but most of the 3rd party apps usually have a different backup system - so use those to backup and restore. [most of 'em will use the iTunes File Sharing method biggrin.gif]

I have try many toDo apps and the most user friendly is wunderlist and it's not tedious. i came across others that is quite detail as well but not to my liking.
WHY WUNDERLIST?
i just want to record a list without due date. it's sort of like a reminder without obligation .
Others set a rigid standard like Date and fixed title on the Menu . Wunderlist allows you navigate and set your own Title.

I have try awesome notes and the button is complicated. some icons is not user friendly. when i search for delete, it takes me a while to find it.
another simple TODO apps is this but it's a Daily Calendar follow thru.

Have you tried out Dejumble? It's FREE.

I have AwesomeNotes as well, but for GTD/tasks and reminders or very important notes - i use Dejumble as it's dead simple to use, and the UI is good. AwesomeNotes is great, but it's an overkill if you purely want a To Do app. Much better than Wunderlist imo.

in iTunes, click on the song u want to add the lyrics to, and lick on Get Info. Click on the Lyrics tab, and you can manually add the lyrics there......
