Last Tuesday I went to Maxis Center at the Gardens. Wanted to claim warranty for loose home button and loose back. Unfortunately consultant and asst manager there said that it's not eligible for warranty unless the home button is completely not functional. They said if they send to their distributor, the warranty claim will be rejected.

I am really unhappy that I paid so much to Maxis for a product which has loose components. In the US, this issue is eligible for warranty and you can just walk in to the Apple store for a 1 to 1 exchange.

Not satisfied with the store's response on my warranty claim. I contacted Maxis support via @maxislistens on twitter and on facebook. They called me up on Friday to follow up the issue and as of now, I haven't heard back from them.

Anyone had success with warranty claim?

@ calvin_gsc call the AppleCare hotline and leave a complaint there. cos the manager & asst. manager at the Maxis Center do not have authority to reject your claim. if you insist, they are supposed to send it in and try anyway.
@ hackerzx get with Hotlink la, extra RM5 only. call everyone you know, finish the credit and then disconnect the line smile.gif

So why don't you just intentionally push the button with extra force to make the home button useless?
This way Maxis have to process your claim?

Ok guys, finally I got a response from Maxis customer service.

They will help me replace my iPhone 4. However, it's not going to be a 1-1 exchange on the spot as they will have to send the phone back to their vendor to get a replacement. Apart from that, they will take in the phone without its original box and accessories. The replacement will just be a bare phone. I asked if the unit is going to be a refurbished unit or not, and the consultant claims it's gonna be a brand new/sealed phone. Apparently the seal is just gonna be like a sleeve/or maybe the plastic wrapping the actual iphone 4 itself, and wont come with a box with serial number. I asked if it was going to come with a new service card or not, she had to get back to me.

I think after CNY only I will send in my phone.

Sure you could, but you gotta be an early bird. Like be the first customer of the day.

I've heard good chances from KLCC, TTDI and Sunway Pyramid.

Dropped off my ip4 for warranty @ The Gardens on Wednesday for wiggly home button and loose back cover. See how long it'll take.

I went to collect my iPhone 4 for RMA after a week. But unfortunately the replacement iphone4 had the same loose button issue and worst, loose volume buttons too. I didn't accept the replacement and asked for another one. Also, the replacement looks new, but they don't give you a replacement from a new batch. The replacement I got still had philiips screws and not torx screws. I complained on twitter @maxislistens right away, and not long I got a call from their CS. They'll try and get me a better replacement.

I followed up closely with @maxislistens twitter. Was lucky to have gotten serviced by a very nice CS. But the problem now lies at the distributor (Brightstar Malaysia).

Added on February 18, 2011, 6:38 pmI complained again on twitter and I've been given RM100 waiver on my next phone bill.
