OK, this is the real deal. MW3 aims for a bug-free game while BF3 (Beta) has absolutely a tonne of it. I understand BF3 might be a stunner, but the impression it left me is a bitter one. I really am looking forward to MW3 more than ever before!

So it is finally here. The mythical "MW3" that was so heavily rumored last year, appears this year and finally gets a release.
I am more inclined on buying this than "BF3" for many reasons, but since this is a "MW3" thread I will stick to "MW3" discussions. Having read several reviews including Gamespot, Joystiq and Telegraph UK, "MW3" is the best CoD game thus far. It has an addictive multiplayer. The story is 'satisfying' and the visuals are not groundbreaking, but the most polished of all CoD games. However, want to know from those already playing this, how is the... 1. Game performance (constant 60fps? / scalability of the settings) 2. Visuals (much more refined / identical to "MW2"?) 3. Multiplayer performance (lag issues / server issues / buggy info etc.) - heard new modes "Kill Confirmed" and "Team Defender" are best new MP modes 4. Single-player experience (how is the 'epic' concluding story?) I only occasionally play MP due to time restrictions but who knows, would probably get engrossed and devote a huge amount of time to it. The last MP action I have had fun was with "Crysis 2". |

QUOTE(wilsonphua @ Nov 9 2011, 01:11 PM) PC ratings from metascore (incomplete) really sucks... Not surprised one bit. If you know how user ratings are, you'd know it. Who knows (maybe) it was done by some ardent "BF3" / Anti-COD fans since most of the score are '0' - a typical indicator of someone really angry rather than a justifiable review. Look at the meta user reviews for "Black Ops" and you'll know. Same even for "Modern Warfare 2". Official reviews are what we need. Review 1 Without a fanboy rating I'll give this game what it deserves. The story is a joke, same **** as every year...just even more predictable cheese and effects. Details like the foreign cities where presented with lots of mistakes and even lots of spelling mistakes...embarrassing. the multiplayer is nothing new either. Rent or pass! Review 2 I pre-ordered both BF3 and MW3, trying not to be a fanboy to either in this comparison. BF3 isn't perfect but MW3 is a complete joke, especially on PC. If you are even thinking about MW3 on PC, forget it, just buy MW1 or Black Ops and have at least a 10x better experience. No ranked dedicated servers? Check. No adjustable FOV? Check. No real innovation from MW2? Check. I'm not really one to care about graphics, but MW3's graphics are just laughable considering this is 2011. Comparing MW3 graphics to BF3 graphics is like comparing speed between a 1990 Neon and a 2012 Bugatti Veyron. BF3 gets huge props for their innovation in this department. Audio is even worse than graphics. As another poster pointed out, the guns literally sound like paintball or BB gun. Again, a joke when compared with BF3 which makes huge innovations here again. MW3 does have a much better campaign than BF3 though, and BF3's SP was disappointing considering what they could have done with all the new tech. Not sure how long MW3's campaign is though as I haven't finished it yet. Post-launch support from DICE has already been fantastic, and they do truly listen to the community on changes. I remember in BFBC2 Beta, I had an issue specific to my PC relating to low CPU usage, and I got an email from a dev who personally worked with me to resolve it. This fix was including with the final game. I don't have a lot of experience with Activision, but from what I've heard the only post-launch support they give is in paid DLC's. Overall, BF3 is definitely worth $60 where MW3 is definitely not worth $60 still waiting for the official metascore rating of MW3 for PC No matter how this game turns out, it is going to be uber popular and sell like crazy. |

Police: Man threatened to blow up store over sold out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 video game
http://www.9news.com/news/article/228750/2...re-3-video-game QUOTE AURORA - Police say a man threatened to perform his own modern warfare after he learned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was sold out at a local Best Buy. Aurora Police Det. Bob Friel says 31-year-old Lomorin Sar was arrested early Tuesday morning after he threatened the employees at the Best Buy in the 3500 block of North Salida Court. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Sar's anticipation for the game is not unique. Gamers like Matthew Martinez of Aurora have been waiting a long time for the release. Modern Warfare 3 has been hyped for months. "I've been thinking about it all day just hoping they aren't sold out by the time I get off work," Martinez said. Martinez shelled out $100 for the elite edition of the game. His buddies even went to the midnight release - joining thousands of die hard gamers across the country who couldn't wait to get their hands on it. ...gives a whole new meaning to 'I would kill to play this game." No sales figure has been posted, but apparently Activation has beaten their expectations. Lol, http://gamerant.com/modern-warfare-3-disma...re-dyce-115239/ They are saying frustrated gamers / dissapointed purchasers are to blame for low metacritic user ratings citing the many '0' scores on PC/360/PS3 ratings. I mean, seriously, a 0 - - no value? I strongly believe this is a great game and one we've been waiting for. This post has been edited by defaultname365: Nov 9 2011, 03:04 PM |

Wow, the critics hail it as the best CoD game yet with the deepest MP while gamers (on all three platforms) are cursing the heavens. Usually the critics are meaner.... majority of user reviews are all negative. Bought several game purchases over the last few months and still have not decided whether to buy MW3 or not. First PC review on meta gave it 80%. Maybe I won't buy it. We have CoD: Iron Wolf next year anyways. Maybe (once again) will "try" out the game and then see if it is worth it.

QUOTE(nipaa1412 @ Nov 10 2011, 10:03 AM) It's seems more balanced and refined in terms of multiplay balance(fixed fast throw nade, OP UMP gone, noob tube wont one hit kill u. etc). Most negatives came from the fact that they used the same engine as they did in the past. I think the 4-year old game engine clearly showing signs of aging but still capable. I fear that even next year Treyarch's game will use same engine and it will be a half a decade old game engine. It time to do a true sequel to "CoD4" - "Call of Duty 5" with everything built from ground up with bleeding edge technology. I think it is high time I wait this one out. This and BF3 was on my must-buy list, but too bad... still game plenty of other upcoming titles. At the moment playing "Uncharted 3 Multiplayer" he he... barely have time for MP anyways let alone multiple MP games. |

From my conclusion, both games have conclusive pros and cons.
SP = MW3 MP = MW3 and BF3 Visuals = BF3 Bugginess = BF3 (?) Popularity = MW3 I don't think a comparison is needed. Both games clearly have their fun factor. Both games are flawed. Lol, looks like two fighters punching out each other and KO at the same time. Since this is MW3, I am currently siding MW3. Official reviews for MW3 is amazing. |

MW3 sets a new record. An astonishing 9.8 million copies sold in 24 hours.
