just got my dhd yesterday....are we allow to discuss rooting and stuff except illigal application here? Kinda noob in all this android things (ip4 owner previously). So far, I've downloaded:-

Custom Rom ( revo and leedroid)
HTC Sync
Android SDK
Java Dev. Kit

What else do i need for rooting + installing custom rom? If its illegal to discuss here...maybe all sifu can pm me the details...Btw, I've been following xda on rooting too.....

just to confirm.....am i suppose to perma root my dhd using visionary before attempting S-OFF?

How to confirm that dhd has been permaroot? Cos, I've just follow the instruction on using visionary, and there a superuser apps installed after the my phone reboot ( after selecting attemp permaroot option)

another noob question from me.....how to confirm that my dhd CID is 11111111? After typing these command : "adb shell getprop ro.cid" it just come out HTC_044 only.

to all bro who is facing apps cannot be update or apps downloaded from market cannot be installed ( invalid package file), as in my case, imho, i think its leedroid rom that's causing all the problem. After i clean wipe and reflashed revo 2.0.8, apps can be update and installed frokm market again! . Maybe its the radio thingy or maybe its not......so for the time being...sticking to Revo's ROM

hmm..like that hor...maybe its the radio file then....there's 2 radio files with almost same naming....maybe i flashed the wrong ones....to all bro who just now reporting problem updating apps from market...please do report back whether your problem has been solved or not...thanks....android community really helpful here in lowyat...unlike ip4 >.>

1. permaroot ( with visionary plus tool version r14) >> Here

2. go to market and download terminal emulator (sp?), install and run. Type su and enter, if come out this symbol "#" then ur dhd is permaroot

3. radio S-off >> Here

4. S-Off >> Here

5. Eng S-Off >> Here

6. Download Custom Rom ( Revo / Leedroid / etc) >>> Revo's 2.0.9
>>> Lee Droid (1.5.1)

7. Download ROM manager from market and click on 1st option

8. After successful message on flash, select " Reboot into recovery"

9. In recovery menu, follow the instruction in the custom rom thread.

10. Download recomended radio ( there's link in the custom rom thread) or you can find them here if limited download traffic. Note: ***only flash recomended radio****>> Here

11. Flash radio ( instruction) >> Here

Congrats......finish le...

PS: If there's any mistake as per above link and instructions or the sequence.....feel free to correct me

for custom rom, each "chef" will "cooked" their ROM with certain radio files and tested for stability ( wifi, 3g connection, etc). Each chef thread, they will recomend you to flash certain radio file. You can choose not to anyway. Should you decide not to flash their recomended radio files, if your dhd performance is slows down or always drop calls or internet connection, you can consider to flash their recomended radio, else no need lo.

Hmm...i am very sure after i did step 4, ENG S-OFF definitely did not appear on my bootloader screen and only appear after i did step 5. Any sifu can verify this?

any sifus can confirm whether Revo 2.0.8 rom comes with A2SD+ or i need to flash with Leedroids A2SD patch for it to work?

how long did it took your dhd to partition your sd card of 16gb(class 6) using ROM Manager? Mine took 2h and still counting...is mine hang d?

any1 know how to change boot animation for Revo's rom?
