no. Rooting 1.72 involves downgrading to 1.34 before permarooting, which makes making a nandroid possible after downgrading to 1.34. What if I want to restore to 1.72? I don't want to go thru the hassle of looking for a perfect RUU. Unless someone can coax HTC to release the regional RUU...

when flashing the ENG HBOOT (to achieve ENG s-off) be extra careful when typing the commands. Flashing to the wrong partition can perma-brick the phone.
read up on the differences b/w radio s-off and ENG s-off. Basically for normal flashing, radio s-off is enough. Flashing ENG HBOOT is for executing fastboot commands (useful but not necessary). |
