My Stock DHD with Custom kernel only manage to survive 16 hours... cry.gif before the phone start nagging to be charge again...

Let me make it easy for you... Perm Root = Done... Radio S-Off = Done... ENG S-Off = ?

If you still not done ENG S-Off... do it now... after finish dl Kernel Update Utility from XDA... Then you can easily flash custom kernel to your phone without problem... No need think about fastboot, adb and etc...

You should follow my advice just now... smile.gif The only way to get out of this... Boot into recovery and flash custom rom...

If you dont want to flash custom rom... you can extract stock rom from official RUU:

The easy way get a root explorer and copy your new boot animation from your SD card to your phone...

Actually with 1GB internal space... why even bother if the apps on SD card or not... It's not like you gonna run out of space soon...
