I have questions regarding the charges for oversea transaction. 2.5% charge is imposed for oversea transaction.

If I charged my card on oversea website transaction (for example, in USD), does this considered as oversea transaction?
*
Yes... as long there's a conversion from foreign currency to MYR..the 2.5% applies

Can I do balance transfer in between Maybank Gold Visa Credit Card and AMEX Gold Credit card?

I don't think so since both of them are under Maybank Group.

Hi all,
Just to check, today I swipe my AMEX at Giant for Rm400; then when I try to fill petrol at Shell. Swipe the card three time with transaction approved thru but the pump has issue, end up charge Rm0 for 3 times. When try to swipe for fourth time, error message "Daily Transaction CL Reached".

Any idea what is the daily transaction CL about? My outstanding is not even 30% of my CC CL...

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

It is not so much of a actual CL but it is more like a safety feature which the bank implemented to protect customers against petrol stations frauds which used to be rampant several years back. Each time you swipe/insert card into the machine at the petrol station, the card takes away a certain credit limit which is about RM200-RM250 depending on the bank.

This amount is then recalculated based on the actual claim by petrol station/actual usage by the customer and the surplus is returned back to your CL.

In the event of the error ... sometimes the machine already sent the transaction request to the bank although you did not pump anything. Likely hood of erroneous claim is low, so don't worry too much. Swipe too many times on a particular day and actually it would seem to the bank that you are pumping too much petrol for your own personal use thus the bank blocks further transaction for petrol.

Hope my explanation clears things.

Thanks hye for the explaination, but how long does the credit limit get holds? Is it release on daily basic? Kind of embarrassing to face this... sweat.gif

To be more technically precise, use your online banking system to "advise" you on whether the CL has been released or not. CL will be released once the petrol station submits their actual cc claims. It is not necessarily 1-2 days as this is only true if the station submits their actual claim at the end of every business day but there are times when they submit a few days later.

Normally, petrol stations submit their claims at the end of every business day so that they can get paid by the bank within the next 3-4 days later.

Honestly, you need not worry about this too much unless you are using like 90%-95% of your CL already.

I don't think M2U is so advanced to display available CL like CIMBClicks. The shown CL is total combined CL.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct.. this where M2U is lagging behind SCB, CIMBClicks, OCBC (most accurate CL balance including transaction not posted)....

i would like to pay following bill by my Maybankard 2 AMEX through M2U :

1) TNB
2) ASTRO
3) TM - Fixed Line

Can above bill can be accepted and proceed through M2U? If can, are we able to get 5% rebate if we made the payment on weekend.??

Let me explain further.
Using Maybankard2 AMEX, you get 5X TreatsPoints for every transactions charged (autopay or retail swipe or internet use) ~ which equivalent 2.5%
