Latest by next week you will see if your card is approved in the system, then it will take another week or so to send your card. Hopefully can get it by CNY.

I have just applied for this card through phone this morning. The CS officer said the card could be approved in 4 to 5 working days and I would receive the card in 2 weeks from now. I shall wait and see how efficient MBB is.

Jusco RM100 voucher = 20k Tpoints
https://www.maybankard.net.my/catalogue/pro...e=89&pro_id=228

Parkson RM50 voucher = 9300 Tpoints
https://www.maybankard.net.my/catalogue/pro...e=89&pro_id=505

Metrojaya RM50 voucher = 9000 Tpoints
https://www.maybankard.net.my/catalogue/pro...e=89&pro_id=504

Treatpoints is not "that" bad

RM50 vouchers for Carrefour, Giant and Tesco all need 11,000 TPs. If RM50 shopping vouchers for Parkson and Metrojaya still require less than 10,000 TPs now, better redeem them fast before MBB raises the points requirement.

However, I still prefer cash redemption from MR programme. I can actually earn more points and cash by redeeming cash back. For instance, I can use 10,000 MR points to redeem RM50 cash back. Then I can use the RM50 cash to buy stuffs in hypermarket and get another 50 x 5 = 250 MR points, equivalent to another RM1.25 cash back.

Sorry guys for giving the wrong information on KLIA lounge. This was the information given by the AMEX CS on the 18 Jan. Today I called them back to check on this after reading the post here and they said Maybankard2 does not entitle for the KLIA lounge. It's worth to keep the AMEX Plat card then.

While Amex Platinum charge or credit card could be retained for airport lounge access, Amex Gold credit card MUST be replaced with Maybankard 2 Amex. I cannot find any good reasons for not switching over to Maybankard 2 Amex from Amex Gold cc.

If you take a look at Maybankard2, the benefits can over take AMEX Plat CC easily. Another concern is are we willing to fork out RM800 AF for AMEX Plat when we have this Maybankard2 as rewards are better with this card.

I'm afraid Maybank will soon revise redemption points higher now that every RM1 spent is worth 5 points. Guess I need to redeem Flexi-Reward every 10000 points even if it is only for RM50.

In terms of physical benefits, Amex Platinum charge or credit card has no way to compete with Maybankard 2 Amex. However, someboday mentioned that his/her main concern was about the complimentary airport lounge access. He/She may need to retain other cards that come with airport lounge access.

Just don't like to see another card in the cold storage, especially with that ugly logo.

Are you referring to that yellow color Maybankard logo?
For me, that logo kinda spoils the whole thing. If it wasn't for that, the card looks good actually.

anyone have any experience with the Amex Return Guarantee? Besides the amount limit, one of the clause kind of ruled out most of the items we can think of:
QUOTE
Items not covered are: animals and living plants; one of a kind items (including antiques,
artwork and furs); limited edition items, going-out-of-business sale items; consumable
and perishable goods; jewelry and precious stones; services and additional costs (such
as installation charges, warranties, shipping or memberships); rare and precious coins;
used, rebuilt and refurbished items; mobile/cellular phones; compact discs; digital video
discs; audiotapes; video-tapes; computer software; books of any kind; health care items
(such as  blood pressure machines and diabetes equipment); tickets of any kind;
motorized vehicles and their parts; firearms; land and buildings; negotiable instruments
(such as promissory notes, stamps, and travellers cheques); cash and its equivalent; and
items permanently affixed to home, office, vehicle, etc. (such as garage door openers,
car alarms); illegal property; formal wear including, but not limited to, evening gown,
wedding gown or tuxedo; underwear, surcharge, etc
i wonder what items can guarantee be returned? biggrin.gif

The Maybankard 2 Platinum won't come with the yellow Maybankard logo. Instead, it will be similar to the one like their World MasterCard.

Yes, I really don't like to see MBB logo. But it's too bad that the real Amex can't match the benefits offered by the new Maybankard 2 Amex.

The MBB logo looks OK if it's on the Platinum card, but not the Gold card..

You're right on this:P
If you notice on the Maybankard2, the MBB logo is positioned on the left. instead of center like the conventional cards.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but got confirmation from Maybank via email.

Supplementary cardholder for Maybankard 2 pays RM50 for the 2 cards.

like that ar...

ah, one more thing, in the website there says RM50 weekend rebates (Principal cardholder). That sounds like only Principal Card earns weekend rebate.

Like I mentioned in my blog, downloading the application form and faxing to Maybank may be faster as all your details are filled in by you and the possibility of an error is less and easier for MBB officer to process your application instead of calling them where error may bound to happen.

Well, I called AMEX CS yesterday night to check on my application status and it was shown in their system my Maybankard 2 Cards application is being process BUT it's for the Gold Card. Later have to call up the girl I spoke to when I applied for the MBB 2 Cards over the phone to and change in to Plat cards doh.gif

I got the CIMB and HSBC's too. Anyway, HSBC doesn't have special Premier Ang Pow this year right ?
