What's the process like? I pay the annual fee first, spend RM20k within 90 days, wait for them to credit 300k MR to my account, then call the bank to ask to redeem my annual fee?
Will they refund me my annual fee for the first year or will they only waive it for the subsequent year?

Is the information available by calling the Platinum CS? so the total MR required to offset the AF depends on how much was spent?

I managed to check with my card sales representative, she mentioned to me that the Maybank Platinum Charge Card is not affected. Which makes sense because I cannot find the card information in the link I provided earlier.

Can anyone else also confirm the answer I received?

I am looking for some answer to the Maybank The Platinum Charge Card. I am scouting for an AMEX and to be honest, the perks offered by this card attracts me. But the same time I am not willing to pay for it's AF which is 3K+.

Has anyone successfully (and by experience) managed to waive the 3k+ AF from Maybank? If yes, what is the criteria that the bank is asking? I asked the officer, and the answer I got is I have to pay it yearly.

Amex Plat RM1.40/KF for local spend, while KF Amex is RM2.50/KF

Miles validity for Amex Plat is 6 years, KF Amex is just 3 years

The only cons is that, for Amex Plat, you need to fight for redemption. LOL!
