looking for a plasma tv but still dilemma in choosing between these two models. any idea which one is better? reflective?

i was quoted almost the same price for both models with samsung slightly higher

Me also thinking of this two model.

IMHO, Samsung have better features like:
1) wireless "Allshares", can play media files from PC/mobile phone via Wifi
2) can play media files from USB/hdd via USB port (supports MKV,avi etc)
3) 4 HDMI slot
4) better and modern design + lighter

Didn't go thru the PQ coz I never compare this two Plasma side by side. So we need some pro user to provide/share their experience.

go for Samsung C550..u wont regret...previously i was using the pana U20K..somehow lacking on the pq...and some important features..basically pana u20k 's tech is 6mths behind...imho

did anybody compare the reflectiveness of the screen for both model?

Can you elaborate more on the different PQ?

i got a quote for rm3.5k. but i still have doubt on the realibility of korean brand. no disrespect of korean brand but i did heard a lot of bad experience from others.

About the price for pana 50u , quality should be more or less there ..depends on your preference.

Hmm..For pricing, make sure u check with seng heng branch, their promotion price pretty good...

I heard panasonic plasma Asian version had issues on black level (not-so-black) after 200 hours+ of usage, and i doubt such issue is covered under the limited warranty... another common thing to cosider is the higher power consumption on plasma... and seriously, the C550 is Really GOOD in term of PQ and the User Interface is very very friendly and polish!

Panasonic is also going down in reliability. You can read in this forum and foreign on reliability issues of Panny TVs.
Even my friends Kuro 508XG (made in Japon) rosak after 18 months of use. Luckily under warranty but still, reliability is a question mark. To, me if you like the TV, as long as it's of a reputable brand, just jump and enjoy. Some more, Samsung might give you more value in terms of features and price. Heck, I think the PQ is even better than Panasonic

u20 is 2010 model which many people said got floating black is it?

I also in the market for this. TS, can you tell me which shop can get RM3.5k? Is it the lowest price? Does it bundle with blu-ray player?

last 2 weeks i missed Jusco weekend sales. so sad. got voucher every RM100 spent.

U series was only 3599 with jusco voucher of about rm300.

can get 0 installment pulak..so sad.

Finally ordered C550 after compare it side by side with 50U, 50U looks kind of old model ...

Worth to pay little bit more for C550 in my opinion..

Strictly on Picture Quality. How do they compare to you?

Some how 50U more reflective and color too dull to my prefrence, old design frame and stand, no USB 3 instead of 4 hdmi .........Conclusion : unless u trust panasonic brand than samsung , C550 is the way to go (my own verdict of cos)
