my iphone was stolen months ago. I posted my IMEI online and now someone reached me saying his friend found the iphone but need my serial no. for clarification. it really sounds fishy to me. As a buyer, I will ask for serial no before buying the phone. so do you guys think he is trying to get the serial and sell it?

He's right bro. You can get your service card, and do meet up with him. If he doesnt mean to return you back, suggest you try report this to police. And let police knows that guy is holding your phone now. smile.gif

the serial number is already in the phone. I think the guy is trying to get a valid serial number to scam other ppl, ie ... selling iphone via post ?

I think so too. The reason he used is that he called apple and they told him must get my serial to match the imei...I didn't know apple is so helpful, why didn't they help me to find my stolen phone at the first place?
