can I still do it without reverting to stock rom?

ext 2 3 4 are types, you can only set this on Linux OR a linux VM (Virtual Machine like VMWare) * Note- need this for S-Off too!

But usually when u partition, it's ext 2 by default. Just partition your SD via recovery, it still works.

What does it mean by boot from CD..?!

Or CD version
1.download Alpha Rev.iso
2.burn .iso image to CD using a iso burning software eg. Power ISO
3.boot from CD eg. Hold F12 at boot
4.press the Legendary enter

Check with SIS if the phone had previously performed a warranty claim/mobo change. URGENTLY! *INCASE STOLEN PHONE O.O*

Alongside that, ask why need to change mobo.
(I wonder if it was due to overheat... quite a common thing if u heavy usage + overclock)

Yeah, tread with care on temperatures with this phone. The mobo is quite fragile. It may be able to hold off for a few times but in a long run, the phone mobo lifespan = gg'ed.

You have to disable signature verification unless you s-off'ed.

You don't HAVE TO FORMAT IT. You should format BEFORE partitioning! LOL

All you need to do is check if the SD is running FAT32. if it isn't, use the SDcard slot with micro sd card and read it on ur PC and just format it to FAT32 if it isn't. (NORMALLY it should be unless you changed to ex-FAT or NTFS *Very unlikely*)

Cyan/MIUI owns =p

You missed out steps not mentioned in some root guides (Like me, possibly).

You MUST install HTC Sync to your PC first because it contains HTC USB drivers you need.

In order to root, you must remove the HTC Sync. (LEAVE THE USB drivers alone!)

Once you've done this, you aren't suppose to look for the HBOOT USB under the SIM lock but ABOVE Fastboot! (Only for newer Desires (SLCD possibly?)) I stuck at this step too! Don't follow that!

TO NOTICE IT, While under Bootloader (That white page with those 4 options, unplug ur USB and plug and you will see the difference)

Once that is correct, LEAVE it. RUN UNREVOKED, MAKE SURE your unrevoked is using 2.5.1.8 version NOT 2.5.0.7! It won't work properly for PVT4 devices!

Once ur done, it will straight bring u to recovery, congrats by then.
Do NOT disconnect your USB at ANYTIME during that time.

YES it is!

You have rooted your phone!

Can you shut down your phone and go into fastboot and access your recovery?

If you can, check the version. Make sure it's 2.5.1.8. If it is 2.5.0.7, try performing a Nandroid BACKUP. If it doesn't work, you need to reflash AGAIN using 2.5.1.8. If you can make a nandroid, then do it! Wipe your phone (cache/reset/dalvic) then go flash a rom of your choice :] And you're done.

Out of my knowledge scope, sorry I never used SD readers.

Without A2SD+ would be faster but less storage space.

Depends on you. If you want space then get A2SD+ but make sure u have partitioned your SD card via recovery.

IF your nandroid is working, wipe your phone.
MOVE your nandroid folder (Find it) and put it into your PC.

Look for Partition SD under Advanced.

U don't need 2.5.1.8 if your .0.7 is working ya~
