You can try goggling ozgameshop or try to buy games from Steam. ozgameshop can get you very cheap games like 40AUD for a new game or much less for older games. The only problem is, you need to wait for 2 weeks for the game to arrive.

There will be a huge sale on Steam in the middle of this year. You can stock up games on that time too.

wooohh shocking.gif that cheap? will check it out later, thanks for the info bro thumbup.gif

Send to repair centre. There's nothing much u can do.
Yes.
U should feel some heat flowing off the back vent. Can't u feel?
*
yeah i do, but im not sure if its really working to da max lol cuz i can barely feel the air flow..

maybe its because of me not playing games with heavy graphics lol

hi everyone... want to ask:

1. what are the advantages of asus G series over alienware?

2. what are the disadvantages of asus G series over alienware?
*
1.
-Almost the same specs but cheaper
-Not so flashy, look more professional
-Better looking (I guess)
-Cool palm rest
-Decent Graphics at a cheaper price

2.
-Build quality is not that good,
-Less brand recognition
-LCD is not that good
-No on site warranty

Personally i think i can live without 3D features, since not all games can be played in 3D in think.

furthermore, i just hate that 3D glasses...

iirc you can get the other G series laptops here, its just the G53Sw with the discount right?
singapore also can get, but other places is like garage sales (from putochip123) or you can order it from US yourself (like that can customize specs abit)
*
Well if you go for looks plus performance go for VX7
but if you go for pure performance and a bit of looks go for G53.

These two are using the same chassis, but VX7 have lots of extra finishing for aesthetics department the problem is, the price...

actually its already good enough if you buy G53 and show off to people, they'll still say its a good looking laptop.

Theres not much difference in terms of performance, both are using the same graphics card. I think the only difference are graphics memory, ram, and maybe proc model (again, both are still using i7)

Personally, i think its better to buy G53sw, since gaming laptops wont last long with all the new graphics card and processors coming into the market rapidly...so to fork out lots of money for Vx7 is just not worth it i think..

but when i read the brochure it says 3gb video ram ? or is that bullshit @@ lol
wat does the graphic ram do anyway =X
*
like i said, the difference is video ram and memory ram...
the graphics memory for vx7 is 3gb ram, while g53jw is only 1.5gb ram.

Yes, possible to upgrade depending on the power your AC Adapter can supply.
Note: This only works for Asus G series, don't think this can be applied to Asus A/K/N/U series.
GTX 460M/485M/560M and AMD HD 5850M/5870M/6970M are MXM cards.
The only problem for Asus is that you need to disassemble the whole laptop to take out the graphics card and replace with new one.
But for Sager,  it is much easier because just take out a few screws then you can see the CPU, GPU, Fans, RAM, Harddisk, so it's easier.
*

Nah, eventhough its using modular cards, its not upgradable, but according to this guy, maybe we can upgrade the CPU..

confirmed upgradable features are RAM and HDD, others will remain as is i guess..

I heard that theres not much difference between GTX560m and GTX460m card other than higher clock speed..

overall it was assumed that both cards performs about the same range..albeit GTX560m is a newer or refreshed fermi chip

My GPU temps just keep going higher now.

Playing BC2 at 91C now.

Looks like the day i'll send it for repair will be coming soon.
*
it could be caused by ambient temp,

currently its winter in perth, i can play games(Crysis 2, star craft, Warhammer)with temp less than 68 degree. Plus i also have the notebook cooler underneath
