Hey guys , just got my G73jw-1atz .
A question pop ups when i switched on my laptop : " How to take off the whole bunch of bloatwares "
and worst of all , it doesn't come with a Win7 disc . And there's this pop up msg " set up backup ".
I am noob in computer stuff , just wanna get a clean reinstall of Windows 7 with useful softwares.
Any sifus here can teach? or maybe i shud walk in to a computer store tomoro lol.

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jan 17 2011, 07:16 PM) Try to read these two threads: 1. Asus Utility and Bloatware Guide2. Complete Walk-Through for Doing A Clean Windows 7 InstallWhere did you buy your notebook? I wanna add your name into the namelist. WELCOME!!! yea sure , joining the club today onwadrs Bought from a forumer named LuminCheng that got the stock from US. Hmm , i dun get the "Windows 7 Recovery Media for Windows 7 Products" disc part, because it doesn't come with the package. But there's a program that pops up from the lower right hand corner that prompts me to " set up a back up". was wondering if i " set up a back up " , isi the backup the same as what it i need from the "Windows 7 Recovery Media for Windows 7 Products" disc ?

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Jan 17 2011, 07:36 PM) that set a backup thing, if ur using the Asus program, will create a recovery disc. You won't get the win 7 recovery media disc, laptops don't get those anymore. need like 5 blank dvds... dual layer dvds didn't seem to work... Hmm so the best way is to get a Win7 myself and start the recovery ? As this is a factory stored Win7 , i actually assumed it to have a valid cd key ahhaha This post has been edited by MariMo: Jan 17 2011, 07:38 PM

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Jan 17 2011, 07:43 PM) ur cd key is on the bottom of your laptop. You can download the win 7 iso, select the correct version (home premium) and install it back, and use your cd key. The instructions should be on the link Jeffery gave you Hmm , if i were to get a pirated Win7 and use the original CD key provided with the laptop , will it work ? QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jan 17 2011, 08:00 PM) I have added your name into our family tree . . . Hope to see you her often! Sure man! but at the moment let me reconfigure my laptop 1st gonna go aussies in another month

They'd better not charge in aussies too, as I am gonna study there from next month onwards I herds that the accidental warranty couldn't be claimed anywhere but US, is it true?

hmmm , feeling a lil uneasy here, just now i was running my black ops multiplayer a couple of times , a few times.
The game crashed for the 1st time and for the second time it runs smoothly, but i got disconnected from the internet. So as for the 3rd time i ran it , it crashed again. So i restarted the computer .
When the computer restarted, and i logged in to windows , while i am on the logging in screen it says " PREPARING DESKTOP "
I went in to Windows and i saw all my icons are huge , like the default medium size. I lost my black ops Icons / files and some other programs.
I restarted the comp again and it didn't work.
Restarted it for the second time , and everything went back to normal.however black ops starts to lag even in solo mode , and so does my other programs like 3d max and Photoshop.
I did not reformatted my comp for the bloat wares but Just removed them via control panel. Wonder it has anything to do with it .
Anyone experienced this b4? Was thinking shud i send to Computer shop to get it reformated and checked as i am leaving for my studies way bellow soon.

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Jan 21 2011, 09:17 AM) Firstly, black ops is a bad benchmark game as it also lag and crash on mine. Try games like bad company 2. It's stable and could give a good indication. By the way, did you upgrade your drivers? upgrade the driver as in like goin through the icon " E-driver " anyway i have sent to my fren's shop just now , seems like he also get customes who has the same problem as me , and ironically, two of em has a G53Jw and G73Jw.
