At first by October 2009, I only got RM 4000 budget to buy an Acer in any retail market, then increase to Rm 4600 due someone recommendation to buy Dell XPS 16. Later, I learn about Sager for it's stable product line and it become 5200 ... and just by few month ago I increase the budget to RM 5600 after I learned the Asus G73 series which is more cheap and powerful ... but now, the new line come out and I need at least RM 6000, and another RM 500 for shipping cost

I got the money since October 2009 ... but still didn't purchase one ... i got a serious problem doh.gif

Later if I choose a wife .. I dunno how long yo .. doh.gif

Just don't take the default (standard) one . . .  very poor range sad.gif Intel should be good enough for normal consumer smile.gif

So,

1) Make an account at gentechpc
2) Contact Ken Lee
3) Confirm spec and apply discount

Bank:

1) Just bring money and do wire transfer to gentechpc
2) Pay another via wiretransfer to shipping provider

Easy like that right? hmm.gif

It is advisable to purchase more RAM (current offer 12GB free upgradable to 14GB) - thinking to upgrade to 16GB (USD 59)

or

change the primary standard (current 750GB 7200rpm SATA II 16MB 3GB/s ) to .... 320GB Seagate Momentus XT 7200RPM 32MB, 4GB SSD Hybrid Drive, SATA II 3Gb/s [USD 69.00]

Getting nervous day by day to fork out > RM 6K for first time just to purchase notebook doh.gif

Just received my g74sx-a1 from XoticPC courtesy of their sales rep Hutsady. Took about 10 days delivered to my doorstep from payment confirmed date. Looks brilliant, can't wait to start working on it.

Upgrades on it;
HD Matte display
CPU i7-2720QM
RAM 16GB DDR3 1600mhz
240GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD (Primary)

If got free time, can you list out the step that you have done from first day till delivery date? notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Its pretty straight forward. Just click 'customize' the laptop model you want. Add whatever specs they have that you fancy. Their online chat is only available 10pm onwards I think but real helpful when it comes to any questions you have. No pressure to order until you know exactly what you want and don't. Once confirmed order and shipping address, they'll send an email for their bank account details. Print it out, bring to your bank and ask them to arrange for Telegraphic Transfer you have to pay what ever conversion and TT fees bank charges. My payment cleared next day itself, order processed and moved into production/customization for about 5 working days. Shipment I had chosen a bit pricier UPS on the better tracking and handling (includes dealing with customs) reputation. Had fun tracking and watching my Asus over 2 days go from US -> Germany -> China -> Sepang -> Me smile.gif
