Guys/Gals : Have decided to bump up the RAM from stock 4GB to 12GB. Should be quite straight forward right ? Remove keyboard then should have 2 slots available to slot in right? Thanks.

the manual says there should be 4 slots..1st slot is used factory build onto the board 4GB so leaves 3 more slots... some where on the notebook.

just got my g53sx-s1208v from lowyat plaza, pro-active ICT. the screen is full hd instead of 768 pixels as brochure stated. so far so good

i dont fancy 3d gaming, or video for that matter, i'd rather spend the extra money upgrading the hdd to ssd.

are you sure it is LED?

i am using notepal infinite.....
but seem like not much improvement in temp after apply cooler.....

Actually the cooler doesn't do a lot but just cool down the arm rest and keyboard area. The G air intakes are underneath the screen.

im using CM Storm SF-19, that cooler is a monster. It uses 2 normal 14cm casing fan that is adjustable and the best part is u can switch it with any other fan. It also have multi color led light for bling bling. The only con that i think is that, u have to plug in a power adapter to turn on the fan and all that nice stuff.

GTX 560 quite weak in this generation............. cannot run ultra settings at all

Have bought 4GB RAM today. Installed it under the keyboard "DIMM SLOT 4" according to the manual. But the notebook bios and windows cant detect it. Anyone installed via DIMM Slot 1 & 4 ? Or must be in sequence 1 & 2 ??

Any advice is much appreciated.

Just received my G74SX... Bought from GentechPC...I bought the keyboard mods (Keyboard:Red, WASD:Blue) BUt when I started the Laptop, IT'S WHITE..... damn... paid usd54 for that..

Just email Ken...maybe can get refund or something........
