640GB translate to that size, cause when they say 640GB they mean 640,000,000,000 bytes. while real world its 1024 bytes > 1 kb
1024kb > 1 Mb 1024Mb > 1Gb hope i'm clear enough |

if you value international warranty you better stick with Asus, so if you want higher spec-ed G53 i suggest you order from US retailers like GentechPC and Xotic. I personally recommend GentechPC because I bought from them, and also they have free US ground shipping as default.
Also suggest you use a courier like comgateway to ship your laptop because they use DHL (Normally from retailers its USPS, which has major suckage, no insurance for overseas shipping and you have to collect from the port authority and that might incur a admin fee, legal btw not kopi money just to clear things) if you want more details on using comgateway for shipping you can pm me. btw just checked out gentech, with your budget you can upgrade to a better screen, 95% NTSC Color Gamut, the i7-2760QM, 2 TB worth of hard drives (or a SSD) 14GB ram, ic diamond thermal compound, blu ray drive, and misc service. sadly GPU isn't upgradable. |

@Evirobear, not quite, look for BTOtech's dismantle video of the G53, from memory, 1 slot accessible by removing keyboard, 2 by removing the bottom panel, and last one is quite deep? it should be on the front page that video
edit: from front page, the second video from xoticpc for the G53. Pretty sure the BTOtech showed you each step, xotic just skips. Found the video > Added on November 26, 2011, 10:34 pmsee around the 7:10 mark. Shows the 2nd super hidden ram slot This post has been edited by DoubleU: Nov 26 2011, 10:34 PM |

well not only that, list of issues i have currently is
-left exhaust making a grinding noise, -bluray drive working half the time -keyboard has problems, like S ` 5 all cannot work, but if i wiggle the keyboard ribbon it works something times - and the thermal paste issue saw from Asus website there's a new service center... but it just states level 4 IT mall... no idea if its Landmark IT mall, Danga City IT mall, or the newly open, The Store IT Mall (i think it has a new name besides The Store too) and minor hard drive concerns |

Honestly the U3 doesn't make much difference because the cooling system in G53 every effective, but it does elevate it nicely, so i recommend getting it.

i would assume that's the best place, although it really did nothing much in terms of cooling.
best cooler? i really don't know, now i'm back in JB i don't use a cooler. |
