QUOTE(Kyozen @ Jan 16 2011, 05:46 PM) i nearby get 5750G too haha...btw get the brochure from my_nickleo post Thanks alot! the A43SV looks pretty sweet too, for people who prefer 14" like me, and its slightly cheaper compared. Looks like an upgrade from A42JA.Asus malaysia product guide updated: http://event.asus.com/my/2011/productguide/PG_Jan_Feb.pdf Got 2 models of N53 series with i7-2630QM 1) N53SN: i7-2630QM + nVidia GT 550M 2GB, price at RM3599 drool.gif 2) N53SV: (CPU unknown yet) + nVidia GT 540M 1GB, price TBA (could be cheaper than N53SN model, also could be more expensive if it was equipped with better CPU, just wait & see) Can't wait to get one. Probably will just get N53SV, since will not use for gaming whistling.gif |

A43SV - lighter, cheaper
N53SN - better gc, better design choices, choices...i can usually give up aesthetic value for better specs...but it has better specs too haha. Problem is its heavy for a uni student like me to bring around... |

Is there a reasonably big difference between gt540m and 550m? i know it seems like so on notebookcheck, but not much info there about 550m in terms of fps. Would the difference be worth an additional RM200?

haha indeed its plain, especially compared to the sleek look of the N series. But i guess i can do without usb 3.0, can't really utilize it anyway...and i have external speakers too. what's important to me is, is N series build quality really better than A series? It being the premium model and all.

Eh i just found out that A43SV is 2630M, not 2630QM like N53SN. Meaning not sandy bridge? Or perhaps typo?

i asked a retailer at sunway piramid today and he told me new sandy bridge laptops for asus will only arrive like in 4-5 months time...and that sandy bridge is unstable and prone to overheating =.='' he's probably trying to get rid of his old stocks first...
